One thing about this team winning 3 out of their last four games that's overlooked in the overall play of Rashad Bishop. During that stretch he has the following stats:

12 ppg (16-31 from the field, 10-15 fts, 6-16 3pt.)
5.75 rpg
3 apg
1.25 spg
33.75 mpg

Good example of a senior stepping up when his team needs him. He guards the other teams best player, helps on the press and does so many other things that go unnoticed. The only negative is he's also turning the ball over 3 times a game. If Rashad can maintain his effort it will make a major difference in this teams success closing out the regular season and beyond.

That is a great point Jeff, Rashad has always been a good defender, it's nice to see him asserting himself a bit more on the offensive end as well. I'd like to see him drive a bit more and maybe pump fake and drive from the 3 pt line while taking a few less threes, but that is being nit picky the way he is playing. I have no complaints. It's bothered me the free throws he's missed lately, but looking back, he looks exhausted by the time he is taking them and missing them, I think that may be a huge factor in his FT numbers of late. He is playing a lot of minutes and gets no break on the defensive end guarding the other teams best player. I hope he can keep it up, because it will be key down the stretch.

No question Bishop has been big lately. I don't want to turn this into something its not, but I hope people keep in mind that many wanted Bishop and Gates gone for good at different points in the last year. Now, those 2 are a huge reason why this team is playing NCAA tournament ready basketball.

The only downside is Bishop has been playing way too many minutes for him and you can see he is completely gassed at the end of games. At least the St.Johns loss and the Providence game, he left free throws (usually a big strength for him) way short at the end of games. You can see it at the games that he is the most exhausted player on the floor down the stretch. He played 44 minutes on Saturday, which is just crazy.

I hope he keeps it up though. He's a huge asset to this team when he's playing like this and I'd love to see a senior go out with a bang.

Bishop will be effective offensively as long as he is aggressive in taking the ball to the basket and going straight up on his jump shots. His jump shot is very accurate when he gets his lower body into position at the beginning of the shot. Hopefully he doesn't fall back into any bad habits. When he is scoring, this team is tough to beat.
