At this point I don't really care if sk leaves after this year. If we struggle next year early on then so be it. I would rather have the team learn to be without him than depend on him. I am tired of him laying a phat egg against quality teams. I don't think he has what it takes to elevate his game against top tier teams. His confidence looks shook and I am tired of watching him play well under his talent. Even if he stays next year, would we see much of an improvement? Even when he scores 15+ a game a lot of times its the most silent 15-18 points and don't make much impact. Part of me thinks we have seen the best out of him, being the second half of last season and the first 10 games of this year.

I blame the offense and the fact that Mick encourages all players to shoot as soon as they get open.

Are you being serious or just blowing off steam? SK is the hardest worker on the team and he'll be the veteran leadership next year. That's two things you are going to need with all the young guys coming in.

So what do you think about SK and him being around for another year? For it or against it?

Dont be ridiculous.

SK is the ideal college basketball player. Hes awesome for the university. And hes a top tier player. This is a absurdly pathetic shot at a great college athlete. One that this team NEEDS next year.

only shot we have at being in the top 25 next year is if SK stays ............. although i wouldn't blame him if he left...

36 against Marquette....play under his talent? the kid wasn't recruited by anyone coming out of high school and he is going to the league. he is a victim of Cronin's offense, or lack there of, and also the fact that we have zero big men. sk is going to be 1st team BE so idk why you would just let him walk. that is very very ignorant

I think everyone is just blowing off steam. Sk is a beast and would be a lot better if we had an offense to run. No way we should expect him to beat a top ten team by himself.

Just got done talking to a friend about this. I already see him forcing up way too many bogus shots, just imagine next year when he would be the only guy from last year that "scores". I would be fine with starting guys like Caupain, Mormon (if he qualifies) and Sanders and learning to play as a team than watch SK shoot 30 times a night.

I was just starting something to get a debate going. Yes he was great against Marquette but majority of all the BE games he floats in and out of being irrelevant. I am not downgrading his talent and hard work as a person. I was simply questioning if we have seen the best of SK. My god, he has been a non factor in a lot of games this year so my thoughts aren't that ignorant. They are observations. Clearly it would be awesome to have him back just from a crutch factor, someone to count on but could it hurt the other team members being too dependent on him. We need other players too grow and develop some kind of game. The 3 amigos have already had that effect on this years squad.

Thank you Nate. Thats the side of the argument I was hoping someone would acknowledge. Your comment in bold is huge.

A non factor in alot of games this season???

Uhhh. Go back and look at the stat sheet.

This could be the worst thread of all time.

He has been regressed a ton in BE play. Deal with it, he isn't a saint or a monster. He is not the player he was 2nd half last year or the first 10 games of this year. All you see is he averages 17 points a game and can't see the bigger picture.

Don't get me wrong, I love SK and what he has done for this university the last three years, but we really need to start fresh and, well, blow this thing up. I honestly don't expect us to be in the top 25 at all next year, unless Lawrence comes in and gives us an "already for the pros" impact, which I highly doubt. If Lawrence and Strickland could give us any presence at all down low, we will be alright. But I feel another year of our offense totally running through SK would not be good for this in coming class, especially when we play teams like Louisville and when they shut him down, our offense is non-existent.

This has got to be the dumbest argument I have ever seen on this board... thats saying alot, i have been around a LONG time around here.

Do you watch basketball? Do you watch SK?

Hes our best scorer. (Something that this team is miserable at). Teams focus on that, and yet he still scores. Do you get that?

We have 3 guys that can score on this team. They have 5 guys to defend that. And yet he still scores. Does that make sense to you!?

Does he take some bad shots? Absolutely. He has to. No one else is doing anything. Offensive scheme blows.

Sleep on this one... You clearly are delusional after the loss.

Agreed.

In BE play his 3 point shooting has been horrid. Overall he is shooting 32% and already has 56 Turnovers. Here is some of his 3 point shooting in BE play. Say what you want but he isn't helping this team as much as you think/want. Overall, he needs to develop some kind of ability to get to the basket because throwing up sh!t behind the 3 point line isn't doing anyone any good.
