SMU (15-4, 5-2 AAC, NET #60) enters Tuesday's match-up on the strength of a 3-game winning streak that most recently saw the Mustangs pull off a remarkable upset @Memphis where SMU went on a 15-0 run over the final 6 minutes of the game to secure a 74-70 win.

Regardless of whether SMU makes the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2017 or not, 5th-year coach Tim Jankovich will surely be encouraged with the future of his roster considering they do not feature a single senior.

They currently boast the top offense in the AAC and are ranked 13th nationally per KenPom. They shoot the ball well from every spot on the court, don't foul a lot, and have the 2nd best rebounding margin in the AAC (19th nationally).

While not an amazing 3-point shooting team, they typically have 5 players on the court who can shoot the ball from deep. Their two starting "bigs" Isiaha Mike and Ethan Chargois combine for 9 3s per game and shoot at a combined 38% clip.

Despite our current 6-game winning streak over them, they played us tight home and away last season, and I expect it will take a very strong effort on both ends of the court to win.

lightning quick pg with extremely high assist rate and low turnover rate. plus scores 16 a game and doesn't miss free throws.

not exactly what you like to see when we struggle to prevent penetration every game. we dont have anybody that's gonna stay in front of him. mcneal might play more, but i'd rather just out score them.

Their overall defense is around 200 but they are top 65 in 2 point defense. They dont really force any turnovers, but we turn it over a ton on our own.

Hopefully our guys have no problem scoring. I expect a ton of layups from both sides.

I see that Mike and Chargois combine to shoot about 7 3s, only make 2.5 per game good both for .33%

Chris McNeal has picked up his dribble 35 feet from the basket 2/3 of his offensive half court touches, he’s a
Liability

Feels like we should be up by more than we are. SUM has looked very bad on offense, part of it is our D, but part is them playing hot potato with the ball.

Jarron has looked very good, but no one else has really played well offensively.

Non of are bigs have played well aside from Scott has been ok, very happy with this game, good to see the real jarron

Vogt was terrible on offense. As bad as he has played all year. Actually decent on defense. Jarron was incredible. Ugly half.

If Jarron plays the second half like he did the first half this should be a comfortable win. Would like to see some other players step up, but Jarron is good enough he can continue to carry us.

I'm a little worried that SMU is going to break out on offense in the 2nd half. Our defense has been good, but SMU's offense has been bad. It seems like they aren't really running offense, just trying to win 1v1 battles by beating their man off the drive. Besides Harvey, everyone else has done well at keeping their man in front of them (and we've play pretty good help defense).

Smu is going to make a run. Can’t completely shut out any team. That’s why I never get too crazy about the defense. Even when we had great defenses teams made runs. Just have to answer.

Diarra gets beat a lot on defense. Tries to guard everyone too tight. If he took a step back he'd be alright.
