Statistically the Worst top 20 KenPom Ever

What are the statistics that make up these values? Also I wonder if the addition of more teams to Division 1 every year dilutes the percentages.

The Pythatgorean win % of each team is basically the expected winning percentage of a team against an average Division 1 team on a neutral court. There are like 350 teams in D1 basketball, so this is roughly the 175th best team.

So saying top teams aren't as strong is a relative term compared only to the current years group of teams. Another way of saying it would be that mid-majors and low majors are catching high majors a bit.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation. I guess by that logic more teams should raise the winning % of the better teams.
