Every time I go to a game, I look up at the retired numers. There are 3: Martin, Robertson, Twyman (pretty sure that's the third one...correct me if I'm wrong). I always think there should be more since we've seen so many great Bearcats in our lifetime but when I think about it, I'm able to talk myself out of many. Fortson didn't stay 4 years. Levett, Maxiell and Hicks were great but certainly not at the level of these 3. Van Exel was a junior college transfer and only played two years.

But to me it is inexplicable that Steve Logan's number isn't retired. Do we think that will ever happen? He's the 2nd leading scorer after the Big O. It may seem random now, but I think they should honor him and retire his number.

While I'm diatribing here...we should have a "Bearcats Great" night where we bring in all of the famous Bearcats from the years and have a ceremony before the game or at halftime. That would put asses in the seats. I went to a UCLA game a few months ago and they had Reggie Miller, the O'Bannons, Baron Davis, Tyus Edney, Cameron Dollar...even Kareem. It was awesome. We should do this periodically.

Logan was unbelievable, no doubt. I might be making this up, but aren't the retired numbers national players of the year?

Twyman wasn't national player of the year was he?

I thought UC announced they were going to retire his jersey and then he got into legal trouble. Maybe I'm thinking of the hall of fame.

I don't think being player of the year is prerequisite for retiring a number but I think it helps seperate you from the pack. Logan was a great player, tough call to retire the number or not. I think UC wants to be very selective of retiring numbers and while Logan accomplished alot, his accomplishments mirror what a lot of players have done. You retire his number you have to go and retire others and then the honor loses its exclusivity.

Logan was sensational and his numbers definitely show that. I just agree that it's far too late. A lot of the younger UC fans would just be like, who? If we were going to do it, it should've been years ago. I wouldn't have fought it either.

Logan was a great player and definitely a UC great...whether he ever gets his number retired remains to be seen...I will probably never see another college bball player out score another team single-handedly....and for that I will always remember Logan
Go Bearcats!
