Let's move on from the last night and talk about Temple now! :)

Just want to start off by saying this... Everyone, UC is alright. They are a young and inexperienced team. We aren't going to go to the Sweet 16 or final four every year. I know we all would love to see them do that and that's what everyone wants to see, but those things take time. They will be okay, if all you want to see is a long tournament run and a team that wins every game and plays consistently, then I would suggest not watching UC the rest of this year and wait for next years team :D
Now...

Quick turn around game. Really a must win for both teams as they both try to avoid 3 straight losses. Temple is a good team, not a pushover. UC will have to come out and play UC basketball like we saw vs NC State, SMU, and SDSU. If they do that, given the fact they are on their home court, I'd say UC should win this game. I believe UC actually goes on a run and wins quite a few games in a row starting with the first one being Temple on Saturday!

UC: 64
Temple: 59

looking at some quick numbers, Temple shoots 37.5% from the field and 29.9% from 3. Their defense according to kenpom is better than ours though, so it's likely gonna be another eye bleeder.

Hopefully we stick to a better rotation, I don't think we are a team that can give all 10 guys decent minutes.

As much as I hate to say it because I think he is going to be a solid player, Quadri is not ready to see significant minutes in key games yet.
Hoping Ellis gets it back together this game:
UC 62
Temple 55

The problem is foul trouble. Octavious or Gary gets in foul trouble and we have to replace them with Deberry or Moore. Both slow to rotate on defense.

Why can't DeBerry rebound? Moore is actually doing a little better imo banging around and at least trying to rebound. The defense is still clearly not there though.

I see the effort from Moore, but he still seems incredibly nervous and sloppy. I hope it's just jitters, because I've seen flashes of potential, but I don't think he's ready for college hoops yet. Hindsight's 20/20, but he probably would've been better off redshirting. He shouldn't play any more than 10 minutes in a big game.

DeBerry doesn't seem to have the lateral quickness to grab boards that don't bounce directly to him. Plus last night he was getting beat to the spot a lot.

Moore has super slow feet and his rebounding is pretty bad for a 6-8 230 pound guy.

With Strickland leaving the program (and not being to play anyways), they couldn't redshirt Moore. I firmly believe he will have a positive impact in a game or two down the stretch. He is gifted offensively, I just think since he doesn't play too much he tries way too hard when he gets in for his brief minutes which leads to turnovers (fumbling the ball, being slightly off on good passes).

Turnovers will be the determining factor. We need to have more made fg's than turnovers lol. Never thought I would have to say that but its came to that.

Not sure we win because I'm not sure how our guys will react. They played with no emotion or heart last night. I will be there, cheering my butt off. Another must win game IMO.

If you are going to the game tonight the school is trying to stripe the stands. So if you are in an even section wear red. Odd sections wear black. All students wear black.

I hope people pay attention. Done right it would look really cool. Buuuuut, unless they aren't handing free shirts it might be a fail.

I hope Caupain has 15 FG attempts today. And 8+ for Clark. Probably won't happen. But Caupain could easily have some monster games if he didn't pass up good looks.

Must win game today if you want to win conference and/or make the tourney. After Thursdays performance and returning to the comfort of home the Bearcats better come out focused and ready. Temple is good enough to beat us if we let them.

He's been working his butt off in practice and as a coach you have to reward that. So far it has not paid off but if he keeps working hard he'll be a really good player. That's how KMart did it.

I think Moore will be good in a few years. He has a lot to learn but seems eager and willing to learn it. Right now he needs some minutes to get experience but you have to be careful with him. He isn't good enough to be counted on and as a freshman that is fine. Mr. Ellis needs to get his head on straight and stay on the floor so we aren't forced to give him heavy minutes in critical games.
