The Cats claw into the Top 25 this week, at #24 Ap, and #25 ESPN....

The stage is set for the 'Cats. They have the opportunity this week to shut EVERY HATER up. Win against X and go on the road and shock 'Nova and suddenly the room that was bustling with talk of "they're not for real" and "who have they played?" will go silent...

Make it happen 'Cats.

They have 17 games to prove they are real. Two wins seal it, a split with a quality loss at Nova will garner national respect. Get blown out at Nova and the doubts persist.

I have believed for months this team would surprise people and be better than many thought. I still think 10-8 or 11-7 in league is where they'll land. They have a tough road schedule in league play. They are going to have to be mentally tough. I think they'll get it done and continue to surprise the doubters.

I just hope that getting ranked doesn't go to their head, I'd almost rather them not be ranked yet. But I do think this team is different and hungry and I'm cautiously optimistic they won't let it go to their heads.

i agree i think they are more hungry for the ncaa tournament than for being ranked because they saw last year that being ranked means absolutely nothing

Yancy Gates has said that. Others have said essentially the same thing. Keep working, get better, make the NCAA Tournament. That's their battle cry. With the make up of this team I believe they'll see it as a challenge to rise to.

Anyone else get that disgusting feeling in their stomach that we got our ranking and now we have to face freaking Xavier? I was hoping we'd get our ranking after the game. I've seen them screw us too many times in the past. I hope we take care of business Thursday night.

I think you will see the most focused and intense Bearcats you've seen all season. I'm worried about them being overjacked. I think defensively it going to be fun to watch.

I'd love to see us remain as underdogs, but you can't keep winning and go unnoticed forever.

I think this team is going to go out and play the way thay have this entire season. Their goals this year supersede beating Xavier. They will be hyped, but will settle down and grind out a victory. I don't think it will be close. This team has a business like approach to win, get better, and not just make the NCAA tourney, but advance in the touney.

Told a good friend of mine that my head tells me it'll be close, but something in my gut says the Bearcats will open it up late.
