I was thinking about this when I read Bill Koch say that Mick has only had one player drafted and that was Lance.

I know most will say SK but I am not sure he is a NBA type of player. His ball handling is really weak and only has average athleticism. He will also be near 24 by draft time. I dont see it.

Cashmeres knee troubles and already being a fringe NBA type of player makes him unlikely.

Justin Jackson is way too short to be a 4 and doesnt carry the offensive game for the 3.

Shaq Thomas is completely unproven but if I was betting 1 million dollars this would be my bet.

We have a lot of guys who are going to be really good college players which is fine. Parker, SK, Jack, and Cash are very good college players but do not carry much upside IMO.

If you had to guess. Who is your pick

Shaq but he's gotta Develop. He needs to work on his ball handling, body(needs more muscle) and shot.

Very good analysis. It's weird to think it would be another 4 years until a UC player is drafted but I completely agree with you. Assuming someone like Titus doesn't blow up the next couple years, you gotta go with shaq. SK may not have the ball skills but I can definitely see him getting a shot in the 2nd round. If you can shoot, people will try to find you a spot.

If Kilpatrick can continue to improve his shot to where he's considered a pure shooter I think he could get a look for that alone. As far as his handles go, he needs to improve but most of his troubles are him dribbling into double/triple teams and then not being able to get out of trouble. The NBA is more one-on-one type of play, so his dribbling won't be as much an issue as it is in the college game.

I'm in the minority. I told a friend last year that Parker would play in the NBA. Big guard who can do alot of things. If he has a coming out party this year like I expect, and if the team does well, he will get noticed big time.

There simply isn't room in the draft for a guy like Parker. If you are going to be a 4 year player, you've got to be a top of the draft talent. Otherwise teams much rather take a risk on a European player they can stash overseas for a few years. NBA Draft is all about potential.

I think it's going to be one of Cashmere or SK...most likely SK Cashmere has another year to put it together. He's already well known and if he can play consistently, I think he could sneak into the late second.

SK has two years to get there and has gotten better from year to year. I'm sure he's working on ball handling this offseason. Look how good of a shooter he's become since he got here.

Cash has way too many health concerns, and is too small. He has no chance. SK doesn't have the ball skills and isn't athletic.

The only potential guy I see is Shaq.Though it shows Mick can win by building a program, hopefully it doesn't hurt recruiting. He needs to get some guys in the NBA.

Wright has too many health concerns, it wouldn't be a smart business decision. Not all guards in the league are supremely athletic.
We need someone without character issues i.e. no punching multiple people.
I still think Gates makes a roster, but he cost himself money.
There are 4's in the league, who are actually shorter than Justin Jackson. In fact, the last 4 we sent in Maxiell was barely 6'6. Jackson needs to be consistent in his offense, not make stupid decisions and fouls though.
He has flashes where he's amazing, his athleticism is other worldly. It's on him whether he wants to be that guy or not.
IMO, Shaq Thomas is the most prototypical NBA kid we have.
I think Kilpatrick has to show himself as a better ball handler and something more than a 3 point specialist. He's going to have to learn to create his own shot. He is a gym rat, I wouldn't put it past him.
The others, who knows? I could see Ellis becoming a draft pick, but obviously, he's not here.
Guyn's likely too short and JDIII is way too early in his development to say.
If Gaines ever develops, he'll be an absolute monster.

People saying shaq is absurd. How about we watch him play ONE game before dubbing him NBA esk.

So with that being said you have to go Sean, but he has a long way to go.

Well how about none of the current players under present circumstances. Just a gut feeling. People need to improve big time to get to the league.

Nobody had to watch Drummond to know he was NBA esk.
The NBA recruits a certain type of athlete, Shaq is very much in the mold of a standard 3.
If the NBA were actually about basketball skills and not a particular type of athlete, you'd have a valid point.

Drummond will be an NBA failure. Low motor and ZERO offensive ability what so ever. Terrible pick.

That may be, but it is the archtype the NBA is after, with regard to bigs.
If the NBA drafted on actual basketball skills, Eric Hicks would have gone. Unfortunately, that's not what the NBA is about.

BOOM...just went from "Member" to "Senior Member". So you know, I've got that gone for me...which is nice.

I think if a guy like Kim English can get drafted mid 40s then SK has a shot. English may have a slight height advantage but I think they're pretty similar players. SK's age may hurt him but I think he will statistically have monster years that could warrant a team taking him late 2nd round. He definitely has a lot of work to do but we all know how much time SK puts in at the gym.

I think if cash had never gotten hurt it would have been him. I think SK is the next potential, but lots of work to do. People say shaq and I don't know enough to agree or disagree. If not shaq, then I think someone from the 2013 class is the most likely.

Too bad to. Was free recruiting face time for Roy and Cal.

Im gonna go off the board and say JDIII, obviously a very long shot BUT a 6'3 point guard, with no history of injuries.. displayed a decent shot and gained valuable experience last year. NOW OBVIOUSLY he needs to work on a lot of things but he has a solid foundation to turn into a very good player.
