Pretty much set up like Band of Brothers. I like it, although I think the actors in the former were better. Still, so far the series has been great, and the action fairly intense.
I'll be asking for the box set whenever it comes out.

This show is intense. It reminds of what my mom said once. A relative came back from serving in the Pacific Theater, and he never spoke of it, not once. That says it all. Brutal stuff.

I love this show. I still have episode 7 and 8 to watch. Funny you mentioned that it looked a lot like Band of Brothers because it is Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg production too.

Its funny--I loved Band of Brothers and I knew The Pacific was suppose to be very simular but for some reason I wasnt able to get into it. Should I give it another shot? Is it as good as Band of Brothers?

I think so. The first episode is the slowest. Once you get to episode 3 it gets absolutely crazy. It is really well done.

It takes longer to get into the characters than b.o.b. did, but it gets good on all fronts. Even the personal (non-action) scenes are really good later in the series.
Definitely watch it.
