TMZ has learned the NCAA is taking an aggressive look at University of Kentucky basketball players -- past and current -- and their possible involvement with professional agents.

According to a source who was interviewed by an NCAA investigator, the agency is interested in at least four players -- two current and two who were just drafted by NBA teams.

In the case of one former Wildcat, we're told the NCAA wants to know about his relationship with his current agent. We're told the investigator asked about multiple meetings the agent allegedly had with the player ... dating back to the player's senior year in high school.

The insinuation is the agent had an arrangement with the player before he went to Kentucky.

It is a violation of NCAA rules for a student athlete to receive anything of value from an agent -- or
to have any agreements, verbally or in writing, with an agent. Just ask USC, Reggie Bush or OJ Mayo.

Kentucky "declined comment" -- and a rep for the NCAA tells us, "The NCAA does not comment on current, pending or potential investigations."

Coach Cal may want to rethink the whole 'Chicago Bulls thing'. Hey, it worked for Pete Carroll.

I have a feeling these articles won't stop until something sticks.

I have that same feeling and justifiably so. Coach Cal is dirty, every knows it and for UK to take him on is their own fault. That was a match made in heaven for any dirty/sleazy slimeball that wants to corrupt the college game. One of the best coaches in one of the most storied programs, both of which have a history of looking the other way. I'm sure something will come of it and honestly, shame on NCAA for not sticking anything to Coach Cal earlier and letting this happen. You could poll 100 people from casual fan to die hard and at least 99 would suggest that there is something going on at UK.

Couldn't agree more. I'd rep you if I could.

I can tell you without reservation that many coaches in Alabama have known about Parker High School's antics and haven't been happy about it. I was told during recruiting that there was no way Bledsoe would be able to get eligible. Presto! Wall has a history with the guy in question with his part of the investigation. I am on record saying Calipari will have KY. on probation before he wins a title there. I don't care how good a recruiter you are. You don't amass that kind of talent yearly without a hitch. His track record verifies that very clearly.

Yet the NCAA continues to let coaches (in basketball and football) be held unaccountable for their actions in leading these programs and allow them to hop and skip from one place to another, leaving a wake of destruction in their path while the coaches themselves remain unscathed.

On record saying that too.
