I thought this was kind of fun. I dont necessarily agree with the summary but we are listed here with some other great teams no less.

Maybe they should switch the title to "Top 10 Most Covted College Basketball Teams Ever"

5. Cincinnati (1999-2000)
Bob Huggins rebuilt the down-on-its-luck Bearcats into a mid-major power, but it came at a cost. During the 1990s, Cincinnati gained a reputation for a rough style of play and academic underachievement. Several players were arrested and convicted on criminal charges, leading the NCAA to place the program under probation in 1998.

The 1999-2000 team, led by bad boy and consensus POY Kenyon Martin, raced to a 28-2 regular season record and was a surefire Final Four contender. Alas, in the Bearcats’ opening Conference USA tournament game, Martin broke his leg in an upset loss to Saint Louis.

Cincy wound up falling in the second round of the NCAA tourney as fans concluded that “Crime doesn’t pay.”

All these teams were "hated", in part, because they were winners...

Yeah not a bad list to be on, despite the terrible description. When we lost in the tournament that year, I for one could't help but think "man, crime really doesn't pay".

I still hate Bill Self to this day because of that Tulsa game. He acted like they would've beaten us even if we had K-Mart, they got so lucky. If K-Mart would've played in that game, we definitely would've won. K-Mart was the best player in the country, there was no doubt about it.

Yeah, helped me turn my life around. I would probably be in jail had God not hurt Kenyon's knee to help me and others realize how to live a true and virtuous life. Now I'm a productive member of society. Thanks, God, for meddling in college basketball to teach us the rights and wrongs of life.

Kenyon's injury nearly drove me to commit crimes...

When you crash into things, the grid goes down....

Don't have a grandson with a dog collar. Don't re-enact movies with Charlie Sheen. Don't sell you hair to a wig shop. Don't have your house explode. Don't become the "Fist of Goodness". Don't attend your own funeral as a guy named Phil Shiffley

I know UC has been hated a lot across the country, but I really don't remember anyone specifically hating that team. In fact it was quite the opposite because of how much respect Martin garnered. I also remember UNLV being loved because they were the underdogs against teams like Duke.

Avid basketball fans respected UC, but the casual fan just saw aggressive young black dudes that got in trouble off the floor. Easy to "hate" for the mainstream...

I travelled a lot for work in those days and UC was despised across the country. Always amazed me but they inflicted many of their own wounds.
