Senior Night for the Green Wave.

Tulane's last home win came on January 17th... against...

HOUSTON! (81-72)

Since then they've gone 2-8 but only one of the losses has been by more than 11 points (ironically a 31-point loss at Houston).

They're up there with Temple as the erratic team in the AAC this season

Hopefully Evans has some family there. And if he does indeed go pro, this could be like a Senior Night for him.

Im a little concerned this maybe another game where Kyle Struggles defensively.

Tulane will spread you out and shoot from every position. Cam Reynolds is 6'8 and has taken 164 3's this year and their 6'9 SO big man has taken 46 3's and both are shooting at 35% or so.

Melvin Frazier is an NBA prospect who is hitting 39% from 3 and hitting an outright amazing 67% of his 2 point shots.

UC will need to contain both Frazier and Reynolds. Reynolds combined for 37 points in 2 games against UC last season.

Also Rey Ona Embo is playing really well as well and is shooting 38% from 3.

I Know I'll get killed for saying this; but I don't expect a UC blow out, at least to start the game. Tulane will be fired up for its senior Cam Reynolds and they have the offensive and athletic firepower to get our defense moving.

The bright side is that they don't defend at all

Tulane has a very solid starting 5 (if you include Sehic as a starter) that on their best day can compete with anyone in the conference.

If we can get Reynolds, Frazier or Sehic (or all 3 of them) in foul trouble early, there'll be a big drop-off in the quality of player they'll bring off the bench, and that's how we'd be able to break the game open.

Need to get back to playing some serious defense. Our season is right in front of us. Two league games to decide the title and conference tourney right around the corner. Would love to be undisputed league champion and number 1 seed in our conference tourney.

They do have some talent and they can get hot. There is little doubt they will be fully energized to have a top 10 team come in on senior night. I don't know why they are so hit or miss but I would guess because they don't play as a team very well. I think we need to expect them to give us their best shot and that is enough to worry me. We need to come out with high intensity and crush their hopes early on. We still control our destiny in conference!!

I would be astonished if he goes pro.

Me too, but you never know. I think he has way too much trouble getting to the basket and/or finishing strong around the rim at the college level to handle NBA. He should work on that part of his game next year & become a more rounded player who can succeed at the next level.

I think a 2 seed is on the line as well. Already a couple losses this week, I expect 1-2 more. I think two wins this week and we are in.

I would love to see him work on finishing through contact. I remember practices with a different coach (maybe we still do it IDK) where they had guys getting hit with football dummy pads as they went up for a shot. You have to be a master at either expecting or creating the contact.

You have to lean into contact at the rim so it knocks you back to level shoulders. you can't start out with level shoulders and get knocked off balance backwards. Evans gets knocked backwards a lot. SK was a master at this concept and it served him very well. Cumberland is big enough that it's hard to knock him off balance. Evans still has a little work to do but I don't see his draft stock rising much unless he works on a couple of things like that.

If he can get drafted in the first round I would take it if I was him...unless he wants to put in the additional work to move way up the chart. He could use a dirty step back move. Finishing with contact. A tear drop floater. etc

2 line is difficult to get to now. since UNC has been on a roll they look pretty likely to be a 2 (at least). Duke isn't dropping below us, michigan state likely isn't, purdue likely isn't.

probably the best hope is xavier drops 3 straight or something like that.

we probably needed 2/3 out of the 2 wsu games and the houston game. now the fight is to keep the 3.

2 seed. We need to win out through our tourney to have a chance.

3 seed. We need to beat WSU regular season or win the tourney.

4 seed. Beat Tulane and win at least one tourney game.

5 seed. Lose all remaining games before the dance.

Idk if he's going to be that kind of NBA scorer. I think his jumpshooting is what he needs to polish up on the most. Along with tightening his ball handling. Also no reason why he can't rebound better.

If Evans get drafted in the first round it will be to a very good team, like the warriors, spurs or Rockets.

Teams like those have zero need for an all star in that portion of the draft, they instead want a sure fire consistent role player.

Evans is a consistent role player on a good NBA team. Imagine him on the wing waiting to catch and shoot while Chris Paul or James Harden creates. He is uber athletic, can block shots in transition like few wings can (think DWADE) and can really create for others.

He is not a guy who needs to go to bad team, he is a winning player that needs to go to a good team with a smart GM in the late first round.

But a lot of Evans stock is going to depend on the Combine and IMO, he might shoot up even higher after some workouts. NBA execs get really excited over 40" verticals, and Evans has that easy

UNC is definitely making it difficult. But I still think we have the chance to get in. We are the #1 3 seed at this point, just need a little help in front of us. And most of all we need to win @wichita

I’ll think the battle on this Sunday is a battle of who gets a 3 seed and who gets a 4. Then in the conference tourney, one or both could stay at the 3 seed line with some big wins.
