By the way, for whatever it is worth (likely nothing), my wife is from LA and her parents are ginormous UCLA fans. I was there this weekend and Friday night, we went to the opener at the newly renovated Pauley Pavilion. 3 things jumped out at me over the course of the evening.

(1) I sat next to Danny Farmer coincidentally...super nice guy. Almost too nice....like Canadian nice. Anyway, he spoke of his days in Cincy, does some reporting for UCLA football and sells in insurance.

(2) Grant it, UCLA didn't have Shabazz Muhammed (ineligible thus far) but the UCLA team I saw on Friday night would've gotten beaten up by UC. We are much tougher, more athletic and hungrier. UCLA is currently ranked 13th.

(3) Pauley Pavilion's renovation is gorgeous. We really need to get that done. I will donate my paultry sum but we really need a renovation in a bad way. Grant it, UCLA has a lot more donors but their facility is about 50 times nicer than ours.

More than anything, I am encouraged. To me, we are in such a great spot this year. The sky is the limit.
