A little over 2 weeks until we play Xavier on the 19th. Here are the games leading up until then:

AR Little Rock 6-3, not a complete pansy, but we should beat them. They've beaten alot of mid-majors and lost to all the name teams such as Ole Miss.

MD Eastern Shore 0-7, this team will give us trouble. Just kidding.

at Marshall 5-3, lost to a mediocre Villanova team, lost to Hofstra and South Dakota St.

Xavier 6-1, lost to Pacific, and have beaten Butler (who beat UNC) and Purdue. I think it's safe to say this isn't the devestated Xavier team we'd all hoped for. The numbers may be inflated, but they're far from an easy out. Should be a better game than anticipated.

Wright State 5-2. Haven't beaten anyone good. Lost to Utah.

New Mexico 8-0, beat UConn by 6 at UConn. Currently ranked #25.

Begin Big East play starting at Pittsburgh on New Year's Eve.

I think we should win all these games with the NM game being tough. I am not worried about the Marshall game because the revenge factor alone should be enough to kick their tails. The Xavier game is always a tough game but I seriously see UC shutting them down on defense. I will say Xavier does play very tight defense but we will overwhelm them and beat em by 20. No reason we can't be undefeated going into Pitt.

I saw a stat yesterday where X is 2nd in the nation in FG% at something like 53.5%. While X has looked better than most of us thought, I think the Butler game was just one of those games where one team is hot and another is cold and X steamrolled them. I saw about five minutes of that game and their defense looked nasty. With that said, X won't score so easy against our defense and hopefully yesterday's close call was enough to have us that much more focused for a good defense and definitely should give us some good video of what to improve on.

Eggs is garbage. They don't have one player that could make Uc's team. That will be the one of the easier games.

Uc will be undefeated in ooc

Arkansas Little Rock is exactly the type of team you want on the schedule. It's a game that you should win, but it doesn't kill your RPI. They are currently #100 in the RPI and they are projected to finish in the top 150.

New Mexico should be another good game. The key to beating them is not fouling. They lead the nation in percentage of total points scored from the FT line (32.2%) and FT made (188). They are second nationally in attempts (237) and third in FT% (79.3%). Keep them off the line and it'll be another good win for seeding.

Not all teams start the season in tip top shape, see us last year.
I think Marshall has the horses, they're a team who can beat you, if you let them. New Mexico is okay, not great by any means. Xavier is decent but the problem for them, is they're just not deep this year. Get transition baskets and where them out. Press press and press some more.
Wright State and ALR are basically the same as Marshall.
