I will be the first to call things as I have seen them and, yes, they have been mostly negative. But what is not to like about those boys down in Clifton. This is a team with huge heart and plays as a team all the way around. One would have to go back to the early '90s to see such team play. Tonight was the first time in many years that I attended a game and I was very impressed. Plan on attending more from here on out this season.

Welcome back.

Great to see the unselfishness of this young team. My only complaints from last night are that at times they were too unselfish, don't pass up a great shot for what you think may be a better one, be aggressive and take the shot, too many times within a few feet of the basket they tried to pass only to have it knocked away or turned over. Also Troy has to be smarter than getting that second T. I don't care if he was thanking a team mate for a pass, when you're the leader/glue of your team, and you already have a Tech, you walk on egg shells, don't give anyone any reason to give you another. I think this team really grew up last night. Hopefully Troy learns from this and the team had an answer for everything UConn threw at them. I kept getting the feeling Boatright was going to put them on his back, but the Cats continually answered back. This young team is growing up right before our eyes and at the right time. Go Cats!

Couldn't disagree with you more. After picking up his first T, I'm glad he was able to remain himself and keep the Bearcats fired up with his intensity. "Walking on egg shells" would give off a defeated, loser mentality IMO, and with a young, not-yet-tough-minded team, they can't afford that from their 19-year old leader. It was dumb, but it was also a bad call. The ref overreacted based on perception. Regardless, I love the edge.

Caupain gave us 20 and won the game for us IMO. If he wants to get ejected with a couple minutes left, thank you for your services and go enjoy a nice, cold shower. Was it smart? No. When he came out from the locker room with his headband on the place went nuts. Boatright didn't really get hot until Caupain left.

I'm not saying he should lose his intensity and aggressiveness, that's the last thing I'd want, just that he should be careful with anything that could resemble taunting. Not so sure we disagree on this as much as you may think.

I think the one game we should "worry" about is x (yeah I lower cased that). That game is always heated

Would love to hear more about what Mick and Pitino discussed this offseason. I believe I read somewhere that Pitino shared info with him on the Louisville matchup zone (I assume general principles and teaching philosophies).

Seems crazy on the surface to a lot of people to meddle and fix what ain't broke (this team's defense the past 5+ years). Fortunately Cronin, Larry Davis and staff found a way to incorporate this into our system. I absolutely love that our guys are capable of playing multiple styles on defense which really let's us adjust pending on matchups that we can try to exploit and/or minimize.

The offense has been significantly better than where it was the first 5 games of the year. We're currently 2nd in the AAC (conf only games) in points per possession. That's a statement i thought id never ever say. And that's with being AWFUL in turnovers giving it away on 22% of conference only possessions which is dead last. I also think turnovers are somewhat more "fixable" than some other categories but we'll see. Now if the team could just figure out a way to cut down on turnovers then wowowow. I was dead wrong about this team bc I always thought their ceiling was very low. Whoops.
