Nothing like a crushing defeat of Miami to lift your spirits as a Bearcat!! The defense came up with some big plays in between letting Miami pass up and down the field on them. The offense looked good at times and horrible at times. Munchie is simply not a passer. I've seen enough to feel confident he will never be much better than a mediocre passer. He missed numerous open receivers by a ton. His mechanics are horrible. He will cost us a game somewhere down the line this season. With all that said, seven in a row over Miami, the Victory Bell is secure and we will be ranked in both polls by weeks end.

It occurs to me, with Munchie, we don't really need him to be that good.
He misses open recievers, yes. The thing is though, so long as he's a running threat, there's always going to be recievers open. You can't afford to drop everything backor play tight coverage, a run could break out at any moment. Added to that, the run attack expands with him and Winn. I'm tired of seeing those sweeps with Abernathy. They don't work. We need to run a little more option. As for the season as a whole, this may be the best all round team we've had. Offense, Winn is a pretty good back, Kelce is a damn good tight end, recievers are all solid and the line is athletic and strong.
Defense, this is the first time in years our secondary isn't a joke. Cheatham Battle and the older guys are making plays. So too, the younger kids. Chenault is going to be really good. I Drane is already pretty good. The line backers Bomar and Blair are solid. The front, we've got depth. Giordano(sp?) and Stewart on the ends have done a great job.
The two deep is impressive. I like Nick Temple. We're loaded.

The only real danger imo we face, will come from Rutgers and whoever we face in bowl season. Some will say Louisville but we'll see.

I can pretty much agree to what you're saying. I still think Munchie costs us a game somewhere. And while I feel better about our chances vs. Louisville now than I did at the beginning of the year, I still have that one penciled in as a loss. ESPN game under the lights of a rowdy Papa Johns Stadium will be a tough environment. Munchie has to play solid and not turn the ball over and give them momentum. I have a feeling Butch will really stress the run in that game. Rutgers I'm glad we have a home. I do like the way our defense has come together this year. Munchie needs to be good enough to score some points, our defense will keep us in games when the offense is stagnant. We do need to cover the pass a little better. Miami had their way with us most of the game. We just were able to force some turnovers. I believe they actually outgained us in yards unless we took it back over on the last drive when I'm not sure why we weren't taking a knee.
