Under miscellaneous I can say I listened to the Ken Broo show on WLW last week. Ken spoke of conference realignment quite extensively. Here are the talking points of what I heard:
1- On 1/15/16 the NCAA will decide on the waivers applied for by the Big 12 and ACC to forgo a conference championship or conduct a modified championship. He stated at first, all were in favor, but now the Big 10 and Pac 12 are dead set against the Big 12 having a conference championship game with 10 teams. That could open the door for UC.
2-Two of the three member Big 12 conference expansion committee members
are Gordon Gee president of WVU and former Ohio State president and the
president of Oklahoma. Texas, which was standing in the way, has now
moved over allowing other schools to take charge. Texas Longhorn
network loosing large amounts of money and failing. These two members
are very much in favor of expansion and will most likely vote in the next to expand.
3-According to Broo, Cincinnati would be one of two teams in line for expansion. The other BYU. According to Broo, these two teams have been visited more often recently by the Big 12 and these two are considered most likely to be called for expansion. He claims this could happen in the next 12 months.
