`10 (JC) WR Kenbrell Thompkins (Grant-In-Aid)

BearcatTalk

Help Support BearcatTalk:

He has been called a "one and done" talent from Lane Kiffen. He could be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick depending on who you ask.

This offense would be insanely good. I mean freakishly good.

You could argue we would have 3 of the top 15 recievers on one team.

Vidal Hazleton (PRO), Armon Binns (Top 3 rounds- PRO), Thompkins (PRO)

Not too mention DJ Woods, Marcus Barnett, Djywan Lewis (4 star), Jamar Howard (4 star) and others.

Offers from Alabama, Florida, Tenn, and LSU.

Straight from SEC country? Would be our top recruit and a immediate impact. It is looking like these rumors ARE legit. Nothing 100 % though but many other school sites reporting it now.

Talk about threats EVERYWHERE! 3 pro recievers and Pead! Throw in Zach's ability to run and pass and oh god. Don't forget 3 returning O-lineman.

40 ppg??

Ha ok sorry but seriously that is downright unfair for our league.

Originally committed to Tenn, Oregon was after him within the past month.

I like how it says Univ of Tenn on the vid...I didn't think they had Bearcats in Knoxville.

I'd like to get confirmation on this. Should come out soon if it's indeed true.

Another nice pickup... talk about competition at the WR position... we go DEEP already, if this is true and the kid's as good as everyone's saying, UC will have one of it not the best WR cores in the country next year...

Pead would have a field day running out of the backfield, as teams would have to load up on DB. Let's hope this is the case.

Agreed 100%. Could you imagine lining up with 4 WR's and Pead in the backfield or 5 Wr's, using Ben G in a slot position? Wow...this offense should be explosive, don't forget Zach is always a threat to take off and go the distance...just ask the USF defense!!

My fingers are crossed that this is true, it seems that he would be an AWESOME addition to an already stacked group of playmakers!

Go Cats!!

UPDATE - It seems that this information came from Kenbrell's Facebook page (per Tennesee's message board)...I just visited it, viewed his wall, and there it says - It's Official, Kenbrell Thompkins is a Cincinnati Bearcat. It was posted up 13 hours ago.

It may be just one more day I can say I am proud to be a Bearcat...way to go Coach Jones!

Speaking of uber talented offensive players... whatever happened with Darrell Scott, the Colorado transfer RB?... he was on campus for a visit, I haven't heard anything since then and that was about two weeks ago...

This from 3/14/10...

Also officially visiting Cincinnati this week was Kenbrell Thompkins from El Camino Community College in Torrance, California. The 6-3, 190 pounder is considered the No. 1 junior college wide receiver in the country and signed with Tennessee on December 17, but changed his mind less than a month later when Lane Kiffin left Knoxville to become the head football coach at USC.

In two seasons at El Camino, Thompkins caught 126 passes for 2,052 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is also expected to visit UCLA before making his college decision.
