Brothers In Arms
One has to wonder why Avon, Ind., linebacker Amonze Daniel has yet to receive his first scholarship offer. Daniel (6-4, 215) passed the eye test and he looks like he lives in the weight-room. Amonze was also very impressive in 7-on-7 drills showing good quickness and burst from his linebacker position. His younger brother, Elijah Daniels, is a Class of 2013 prospect who will definitely be one to watch in the future. Elijah showed fierce competitiveness during the OL/DL one-on-one drills and drew raves from all in attendance. Amonze's and Elijah's older brother, Montez Robinson, is a defensive end at Georgia.
The Bulldogs should have a pretty good chance at landing Armonze Daniel, 3 Star LB, out of Avon, IN. Daniel is the younger brother of current Bulldog Montez Robinson. Daniel has no official offers yet from any schools but had been receiving letters from over 30 schools. Daniel has interest in Georgia, Alabama, Cincinnati, Iowa, LSU, Purdue, UCLA and NCSU. Daniels had this to say about the Bulldogs:
"I like Georgia. I've been there a couple of times, Coach Garner talks to me a lot. He recruited my brother and we've talked a couple of times."
At 6'4" 210lbs Daniel would make an excellent OLB in the 3-4 after putting on a couple of pounds.
Armonze Daniel finished his junior season with 60 solo tackles and two interceptions despite only playing in four games asan outside linebacker. He missed most of his season with a ruptured spleen. He says he can bench 320-pounds, squat 500 and claims a 38-inch vertical jump. Daniel also runs track (10.7 100m; 21.6 200m; 6-foot-1 HJ) in high school but plans to stick with football in college.
Is the younger brother of Georgia defensive end Montez Robinson, recently dismissed from the team.
Daniel plans to major in business and hopes to open a restaurant one day. “I’m a chef,” he said. “I can cook anything. I want to own my own restaurant, so I need to learn how to run a business.” Daniel reports a 2.5 core GPA, a 13 ACT and a 710 SAT. He plans on retaking both, but hasn’t scheduled them yet.
Daniel: “I can make plays in open space. I hate missing tackles and I have good range and can read the offense. I run good sideline-to-sideline.
“I want to improve my leadership skills. I’d like to be more versatile and move better.”
