Powell is a combo guard and one of the elite shooters in the class. Plays mostly off the ball...

Sounds like he would be a great landing. A combo guard that is an elite shooter? That will give us a ton of flexibility with rotations.

Based on the way Biggie's career unfolded under Mick, I would be very surprised if he's someone who Mick could reach out to for help. I could be wrong though.

I've spoken with Biggie several times as some of you know. It was mostly bad luck what happened to him here. His feet just never healed and were 100% and now that they are he is tearing it up overseas. He credits Mick and the staff for developing him

As I said, "I could be wrong"! Biggie was always one that I felt could have achieved much more than Mick got out of him. Calhoun wanted him at UCONN and I thought that if he had went there, we would have probably seen a vastly different Biggie than we saw for four years here. How it all played out could have been Biggie's fault, and it could have been Micks....or a combination of the two. Whatever the reason, we got virtually nothing out of him. But, I'm certainly glad to hear that he holds no grudges and is still an advocate of UC Basketball!

Not to derail the thread, but how do you figure?

Yeah in my mind Biggie was unlucky, he got so many foot injuries he just couldn't ever get a stretch where he was healthy enough to put it all together, not anyone's "fault" per se. Just unfortunate.

Biggie was a 4-star recruit. Calhoun had a good track record of developing bigs. Micks history with bigs is not so good. I'm speculating that his career might have played out differently at UCONN. It's only an opinion.

Get back on topic please. If you want to start a thread on Biggie, do so under Bearcats basketball. Thank you.

If we have to choose between a PG in this class or Trevon Duvall in 2017. im choosing Trevon 12 times out of 10

I believe they are on the same AAU team. I just tried to post a tweet of the two, but the picture didnt come up.

Think you wouldn't even hesitate taking Duval over Powell, but do you risk it? With Duval being '17 and Powell being '16, you're not going to get Duval to decide early. If you get a Powell commitment, you best take it.

Plus, just because they're both point guards doesn't mean they can't share the backcourt. Sounds like Powell primarily being an off-the-ball scorer could compliment the playmaking Duval quite well. Of course, this would be a dream scenario.

I sort of got the impression that Powell would be viewed a Cobb replacement and Duval would be a Caupain replacement.

Has there been anything written or said in an interview that connects Duval to UC other than he is teammates with a recent recruit?
