George Fant, 6-6, F, Warren Central - Before the influx of star transfers, Fant was considered by many as the state's best college prospect. He had a banner summer and has plenty of college options but is taking his time sorting through the schools. Western Kentucky, Penn State, Georgia, Iowa, Alabama and Cincinnati are showing the most interest in Fant at this point.

George Fant “blew up” this summer with his play on the Grassroots scene with All-Ohio Red.

He also grew a little bit.

Fant, listed most recently at 6-foot-6 told me this afternoon that he’s just about 6′7 now and has dropped from 250 to about 242 pounds.

Fant is an undersized four with some combo-forward skills — he can blow by bigger guys on the bounce, abuse smaller ones in the post, and knock down the 17-foot jumper with consistency.

Fant says that the plan with his recruitment was to commit next Monday but now says that plan has most likely been moved back.

“I’m definitely signing in November but I want to take some visits and make sure I learn as much as I can about the schools recruiting me before I commit,” he said.
