Maybe we'll hear about a commitment soon? That would be great news. I think the assistant is Darrin Savino.

Yes the assistant is Savino. Carter has to be a serious target if Mick had an in-home visit and a visit to his school all in one week. Carter would be a solid addition.

Visiting October 1st per RT @BrewsterHoops. Truly believe a Sanders commit could really impact this.

Elijah Carter (6’2″ Sr. PG-SG, Paterson (NJ)) will get time at both guard spots. More of a scorer than a point guard, he had his moments on the day where he showed he can put points on the board although he needs to get stronger. He’ll probably back up Tharpe from time to time at the point.

Hey Jeff do you think that we will definately take a PG?

Carter is not a true point guard, but fits the mold at that position that Mick likes. He is a scorer. He is much more of a combo guard, much like Guyn. I disagree with many on this subject. I don't feel they "have" to land a pg. Wright and Parker are here for 2 more seasons after this one.

In my opinion they have another year to land a true point. Mick is attempting to fill the roster with players that can play mutiple positions, who are athletic and can score. Sanders is more crafty than athletic but could play the 2 or 3 and can flat out score.

I believe they are trying to fill the roster with quality depth at the guard position. Carter will not start at point for Brewster. He will play sg and back up some at the point. The positive thing is, that should they sign Carter, him or Guyn will be able to learn the point for 2 seasons before having to be pressed into that role. Carter would be a nice addition to this class and they would like to land him. I think it'll come down to us and Seton Hall who was in to evaluate Carter. He also has a visit to Charlotte coming up in a few days.

@EliCart3r has Clemson on campus today to evaluate and meet with him. Eli will visit Charlotte this weekend and Cincinnati next weekend.

From BrewsterHoops on Twitter

The 6-2 Carter, now at Brewster (N.H.) Academy, will trip to Cincinnati next weekend after visiting Charlotte this weekend.

“I’m building a good relationship witt Coach Cronin and Coach [Darren] Savino,” he said recently. “They came in and let me know how everything was.”

Carter also lists Seton Hall, Clemson and Oregon State in his top five.

WOW, this is very confusing...

According to Carter, UC is not recruiting him anymore. I'm disappointed by this news as I really like Carter and his game. Wonder what Mick has up his sleeve.

Chad, Jeff, Any insight on this situation as he was supposed to visit this weekend and was our top PG priority?

Interesting... does this mean Mick has an ace in the hole none of us have heard about as of yet?

The only other guards that I'm aware we are recruiting are Jeremiah Davis, and Maurice Aniefok. I'm not sure how much we are recruiting these two either. Maybe Mick feels he has a good PG lined up in 2012 (Beckham?) or has some quality bigs in 2011. I guess we will find out soon enough.

With Cash and Parker only sophmores, we are set at point guard for the next 3 years. I would prefer 2 big men, especially if Yancy decides to leave after this year. Mick has certainly talked him up and has said he will be the man this coming year. I hope Mick has something up his sleave, and we will see the addition of a highly rated recruit. In Mick I trust.

Davis is going to make an official visit. Let's not forget that Davis is a top 125 recruit. There are currently 3 guys on the team that can play pg including Guyn. This scholly obviously is targeted for someone Mick thinks can play pg. Carter and Davis are both combo guards, with Davis really working on making that transition to point. Carter is playing sg for his team this season and backing at the point. It will be interesting to see how the Aniefok situation plays out. I think Mick will sign one more big as well.

Im rather happy that we are not recruiting Carter anymore. He is a solid prospect but not the talent that we need to compete in the big east. Hopefully Myles Davis will be the next big coup for UC. Add another big with him and we are in really good shape. Really would like to know more about that big guard from WV , Is he good enough to play in the Big east or what? Cash and Parker are more than capable of playing the guard spot and there contrast in styles will complement eachother depending on the opponent!

UC does not have scholarships for a spot up shooter, which is what M. Davis is. I highly doubt UC is seriously recruiting him.

Don't know much about Myles Davis. Do we have a legitimate shot at him, are we still recruiting him?

I think we are done with guards in 2011. I bet we sign one big and hold one scholly for 2012, unless a top rated guy regardless of position falls in our lap. Just my opinion.

Davis can flat shoot the ball. Game changer when he's hot. Not sure what he adds if his shot isn't falling in terms of the direction the team seems to be taking in terms of recruits.

My opinion, for better or worse, is that they'll fill both open scholly's. My initial guess would be they add Jeremiah Davis and Nemanja D., but there is the possiility of two bigs. The door may not be closed to a recruit that had verballed to another school.

Myles Davis is something this team desperately needs. A top 5 shooter in this class. I don't care how many 2's we have I think you go after him. A zone buster.

They already have plenty of SG's. They don't need any more. They need big men first and foremost, and then a PG. They can wait until next year to get a PG but they better get a good one because he will need to start his sophomore year.
