Despite offers from schools like West Virginia, Cincinnati and Virginia Tech, Ryan, who was 6-8 at last measure, isn't going to college next year. He'll be attending South Kent, a prep school close enough to home for his mom to visit, with a coach who he hopes can develop his game enough to make a statement when he does go to college.

"I know I'm not physically ready for my freshman year," said Rhoomes.

He dropped off the map after the Nike World Basketball Festival. After a brief stay at a prep school in Mississippi he is back and playing with NIA Prep in Newark, NJ.

His game suffered due to his unhappiness but is quickly rounding back to form. He has offers from Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. John's, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Shaq Thomas played a role in getting him to NIA Prep. he is a former MVP of the Reebok All-American Camp as well as in the iS8/Nike Spring Classic with the NY Panthers. His stock was riding high till he made the decision to train in Tennessee and attend prep school in Mississippi.

Ryan Rhoomes (Nia Prep)- One of the best available big-men remaining in the class of 2011, Rhoomes ran the floor well on Saturday, caught the ball in traffic, and finished with authority through contact. In addition to his power and toughness around the rim, the 6’9” forward used polished footwork on several occasions to slide past defenders and create positive scoring angles for himself in tight spaces.

"West Virginia, Seton Hall, Cincinnati, and Xavier have all offered," he said. "Florida just called and they are interested."

"I plan on going on visits soon, as soon as possible," he said. "I definitely want to visit Cincinnati, West Virginia, and Florida."

Best part about that quote says he definitely "doesn't" want to visit Xavier, hahahahaha!
