Rock has long been known to have MIchigan as his favorite, and that is yet to change. Rock boasts approximately 14 offers, including Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska to name a few. Rock has been to Ann Arbor a few times, and has spoken highly of Michigan every time he visits. The last time we spoke, he told me that he doesn't have a list, per se, but Michigan is as high as any other team. Unless something drastic happens, I would expect Michigan to land Rock. When asked today when his decision will be made, he said, soon.
I don't think we have much of a shot at this guy. I will be surprised if he doesn't choose Michigan. ND had a shot until they pulled his offer and OSU may have if they would have been on him earlier and weren't full at DE. I don't think UC is really a player here. You never know for sure though.
"The food was real good,” remarked Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) wide receiver A.J. Jordan, who attended the BBQ with several family members. “They had some chicken, some ribs and some macaroni and cheese, so it was all good.”
he 6-2, 165-pound Jordan was one of two prospects from the state of Ohio who attended Saturday’s barbecue; Columbus (Ohio) DeSales defensive end Chris Rock was the other.
West Branch Ogemaw Heights’ lineman Anthony Zettel was the lone uncommitted, in-state prospect attending.
Chris Rock has become the 5th commitment for Michigan's class of 2011. A defensive end from Columbus Ohio, Rock had visited Michigan a couple of times, including the recent Big House BBQ. He chose Michigan today over offers from virtually every Big Ten school, as well as big time programs like Notre Dame and Oregon.
Rock is currently a three star prospect as well as Ohio's #39 prospect on scout.com after racking up 15 sacks in his junior campaign. Scout's take: "Rock had another fine season at DeSales. He plays defensive end and tight end currently, but could possibly be a defensive tackle at the next level. Needs to continue to add strength, but has good size and plays with intensity."
Michigan always seemed to be out in front for Rock, ever since his junior day visit earlier in the year. Notre Dame was probably the main competition as he visited South Bend for their junior day, but in the end Michigan prevails!
This is a good commit for Michigan, Rock has a lot of potential and could certainly wind up a four star prospect in fall.
