Be interesting to see if Grace gets offered by OSU, as one of their other targets at LB (Jamel Turner)may be in trouble.
OSU signee Turner leaves Fork Union
The twisted tale of OSU recruit Jamel Turner has taken yet another turn.
The defensive end from Youngstown, who left Ursuline High School last spring and enrolled in Fork Union Military Academy this year, is no longer a cadet there, a FUMA spokesman confirmed today. The spokesman could not comment on the reason.
So far, attempts to reach Turner have been unsuccessful. An OSU official, though, has confirmed that as of now, his status as a member of the class of 2010 is unchanged.
Without knowing what Turner plans to do, it stands to reason that his scholarship would remain valid, provided he graduates from high school somewhere. He could return to Youngstown, finish up and report to OSU this summer.
It's certainly not a good sign for a player who had disciplinary problems at Ursuline, was kicked off the basketball team, then declared academically ineligible.
When we caught up with him shortly before signing day, for this story, it certainly sounded as if he had turned things around at Fork Union.
