At the rate he's going, four-star TE Nick Vannett (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central) says he may need to hire a personal assistant.
"My phone is blowing up all the time," said the 6-foot-6, 230-pound Vannett. "I have 33 scholarship offers right now. All of the schools that offered me, called me at least once during the spring evaluation period. My top six are Ohio State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Iowa and Michigan State."
• During a break on Wednesday night between summer league basketball games, tight end Nick Vannett (Westerville, Ohio/Central) said he is getting close to announcing his college choice.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder has 30-plus scholarship offers, but the schools that appear to stand the best chance are Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Pitt, South Florida, Oregon and Purdue.
The feeling remains the Buckeyes are going to be tough to beat.
Hope he's excited about the 1 pass per game coming his way and having to block DE's on every play. Just a real smart decision for a great pass catching TE.
I've seen the kid play in person and he has a lean frame (I question him being 230 lbs). He is built more like a large receiver rather than a TE. Being a blocking TE is not in his game. I don't expect to see him starting at OSU.
