Offered by UC, WV, Michigan St, Indiana, Toledo, Kent St, Bowling Green.

Interest from Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin.

West Virginia and Cincinnati and Michigan State look good so far, but I have a feeling that UC could lag just a bit. Hope I'm wrong, as I think this guy will get more notice after camping.

• Darius Patton (Poland, Ohio./Poland Seminary) is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the Midwest. He has several scholarship offers and although he doesn't have a clear-cut leader for his services, there are a few schools that stand out.

"I have offers from Cincinnati, West Virginia, Syracuse, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Indiana, Boston College, Kansas, Buffalo, Toledo, Kent State, Miami (OH), Akron and Youngstown State," said the 5-foot-10, 175-pounder. "I don't have a leader but Ohio State, Cincinnati and West Virginia would be my top three. I'm still hoping for an Ohio State offer. I'm not in a hurry to make a commitment. What I'd like to do is make sure I make a good decision and take some visits."

Count me as wrong if it happens, but this kid seems destined to be a slot receiver and with Shaq in the fold I can't see us taking another slot reciever. Maybe if we had room for 25, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us back away.

I would agree with this. I look for a big WR to take the last WR spot.

It might just be a case of the staff really liking Patton. I heard he's done pretty well in camps this summer and really showed up Glenville's Shane Wynn at the OSU summer camp. He has a solid offer list consisting of offers from BC, Michigan, Michigan St., WVU, Wisconsin and Kansas. He could see his stock rise with a good senior year.

I'm all for stockpiling as long as we end up getting three good LB's... still waiting!!! what's the latest on the kid from Tampa? Wilson I think is his last name?

I thought I heard we were in Wilson's final 6. I'm not sure how much of a shot we have, though. Apparently we're in the mix for Dunaway as well but some people are saying he has some grade issues. We've also got offers out there to guys like Nicholas Grigsby and Percy Johnson.

I had heard that we had made Wilson's final 6 but I believe that was almost two weeks ago now. They need LB's in the worst way, hopefully butch has some tricks up his sleeve!...

Might be forced to take a JUCO LB at this point. We just need the players and depth. Although we took Martin this year and apparently he's not even eligible to play.

"It was kind of a surprising when slot receiver Darius Patton said he would be going up to Ann Arbor this weekend. He does fit with Michigan's offense, but with Justice Hayes now in the class it doesn't seem like there's room for another slot receiver. Patton did come away impressed with Michigan, but maintains that everyone is equal.

There isn't too much you can't say about Michigan. Everybody knows that they pack the Big House, and their academic prestige. We all know what Michigan is about when it comes to academics and athletics, and their tradition. It was a great visit, they fit me offensively just like my other schools do. Everyone is equal right now with Michigan, West Virginia, and Cincinnati.

I got the impression from Darius that he was impressed, but may realize the depth chart at Michigan isn't in his favor. He may not have a commitable offer at the moment."
