Ohhhh myyyy goooodd. Crazy numbers. Are we looking at him?

not sure if i'd touch this kid....

he played for Tennessee and Pearl of all people made him leave. Had issues with grades, off court stuff, in addition to that, was flat out terrible there.

If he has gotten everything together I would be ok looking at him. Do we know exactly why he left Tennessee? Did he leave or was he kicked off the team? Also, sometimes it takes a while for something to click for a big guy. I would be willing to take a flyer on a kid that is a JUCO and a big guy rather than hoping a project big will work out and have the kid eat up a scholarship for 4 years instead of 2.

I'm looking at bigs that are out there. Jurick had interst in UC at one time. I like the numbers and he has the size to play in the BEast

I've heard there is a good chance he is added to the 2011 class. Also heard Mick likes his build and the way he plays thinks he'd be a great BEast post player.

It would also mean a schollie has to be opened up. Jaquon?

I said in one of the earlier posts last year, that i was afraid Jaquon would transfer and this only backs it up. I dont think he is going to get the minutes he wants and that he could possibly get at a smaller D1 school. I really thought he would be a super player this year, hopefully its just the sophmore slump that he is in. I would hate to lose JP but think that adding a quality big is almost a must.... Hopefully somehow we can have both..

Cincinnati has an open scholly. Lance Stephensons scholly is open and they have 5 seniors.

Jurick expressed that Oklahoma has come into the picture this year and that he’s also being recruited by Kansas, Clemson, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Mississippi State. The big man is looking towards the end of the year to set up official visits as for now he wants to focus on his season and his school work.

You have to love a big bodied post man, i think him and gates on the floor at the same time would pretty much give us the rebounding edge in a big way. I really like traditional big men with size, but really like a 6'-10" guy who is very very athletic. I really think Kelvin Gaines will suprise some people next year with shot blocking.

UC has to have at least one post player. There aren't many quality big bodies out there. Yes, you want to see if he's a good fit. That's what the recruiting process is for. If he isn't you move on.

Alex Dean totaled 29 points and seven rebounds and made a three-point play off a putback to get the Chattanooga State men's basketball team to a second overtime, where it edged the Maryville junior varsity 93-89 on Thursday. Michael Robertson added 12 points and Philip Jurick had 11 points, 11 blocks and 19 rebounds for the Tigers, playing for the first time in 26 days. Dustin Baxter scored 37 points for Maryville.

What he will give you is a big man that can rebound and block shots. He has the size to play in the Big East and it will keep the classes better balanced than bringing in another freshman.

Amen to that, considering where we are in the year, I think he would be a good fit at this point.

Not to mention the number of freshman bigs that are ready to contribute significant minutes are few and far between and those few are already off the board. Getting a JUCO who is ready physically to bang in the BEast would be advantageous for sure. Mick knows what he is doing from a recruiting standpoint and I am convinced he will be able to get a good big still for this class.

I will take Gates, Jurick, Gaines and Jackson as a four man rotation next season along with Ellis while he developes. With our returning backcourt and newcomers, that will be a strong line up.

Sounds like a good match. He probably would start next season for us. Add him and Yancy stays and we are very dangerous again next year. Good bench too. I would really like to get this one.
