2013 Team Takeover/Sidwell Friends SF josh Hart picked up new interest from Maryland & Cincinnati this morning.

Josh Paunil ‏@JoshPaunilNRS
NCSU, SDSU, PSU, GW, Cincy, MD, VT, Miami, DePaul, Mount St. Mary's & W&M all contacted '13 SF Josh Hart since midnight.

** I'd have to assume Coach Jackson is recruiting Hart.

Josh Hart picked up another offer from Cincinnati today. No word yet though on whether they actually offered last year or not.

Great competitor who never takes a play off. He's a good rebounder. Skill wise he needs to work on his game and he is. Josh's focus is dribbling and his mid-range game. He would provide a program a guy with intangibles and a player willing to do all the overlooked things on a stat line to win. He has athleticism and loves to attack the basket.

Coach Jackson was recruiting him at UMass. Not sure how things have changed but Georgetown was in very tight with him.

I always check out the rivals page when new recruits pop up and is it just me or does Xavier offer every single player we are looking at?

Yeah. That's how they recruit. It saves them time. They just look at who UC offers and then they offer them too. ;)

I've noticed it too. It's not just our players; they just offer a lot of guys in general. When that many guys transfer out, I guess they figure it will all work itself out.

The new contact rule has opened new relationships for Hart and coaches and he has added a few scholarship offers lately as well.

“The newest offers have been Richmond and Cincinnati,” said Hart.

The offer from the Bearcats came on the heels of their new interest, along with some ACC schools reaching out for the first time.

“The newest interest in the last couple weeks have been Miami, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati [and] Maryland,” Hart added.

I just don't remember the last 3 or 4 years Mick being able to recruit so many guys in the top 100 like he is now. Is there an up shift in who Mick is able to recruit based on UC's 2 sweet sixteens and improvement in the Big East standings the last 2 years??? Whatever it is, it sure is nice.

Interest is one thing, landing top talent is another. Still has a long way to go in the recruiting department. The most impressive thing about cronin is what he has done with a lot of 3 star guys. He has gotten underrated players and gotten a lot out of them. 52 wins in two years in the Big East without one NBA first rounder on his team is quite impressive. If he ever makes that leap into 4star and maybe a few 5 star guys I expect the cats to be a perennial top 15 team with consistent runs in the NCAA tourney.

uc offers a lot of players- doesn't mean they have a chance at them. i hope that you are right that quality of recruits is going up, but, i think you are basing that excitement off the wrong news here. josh hart was offered by uc...that is all that was reported. uc can offer anyone they want, and if the kid tweets it or tells a reporter it becomes news now. this in no way means we are in his final 3 or final 5.

There's a premium blurb on Rivals that I don't want to paste here but Hart says his favorites right now are UC, Georgetown, and NC State. He is planning on cutting his list to 8-9 in August but said those three schools will definitely make it.

I think he used to be a Georgetown lean but Coach Jackson's relationship has helped. Either way I think UC gets a good wing whether it be Hart, Reed, or Morman.

Don't forget Shadell Millinghaus.

Josh Hart has been regarded by the Rivals staff as one of the best scorers in the 2013 class for a long time with his athletic slashing ability and creativity around the basket. Over the course of the Peach Jam, the 6-foot-5 small forward, ranked No. 85 in the Rivals150, showed college coaches that he can shoot the basketball as well. On Saturday morning in a blowout win over All Ohio Red, the Team Takeover wing knocked down 4 of 5 from 3-point range en route to a team-high 16 points. Playing alongside massive low-post scorer Beejay Anya, Hart has a nice understanding of offensive spacing and is able to position himself for isolation opportunities, from where he is extremely tough to guard. A versatile prospect who can play guard or forward, Hart will be heavily coveted by high majors as a scoring guard with a swagger and competitive streak.

Minutes after helping Team Takeover win the 17U title at “Live in AC,” Josh Hart was talking about how Indiana and Villanova could establish a “pipeline” to the fertile AAU team because of their new coaching hires.

Indiana head coach Tom Crean hired former Takeover assistant Kenny Johnson in May, and Villanova head coach Jay Wright is set to bring aboard Doug Martin, a coach with Paul VI High School and the Takeover 16U team.

“It’s a pipeline,” the 6-foot-5 Hart said after scoring 14 points as the Takeover 17U team downed Sports U, 63-50, in the championship game at Stockton College.

“It’s kind of who you know, like where you feel more comfortable,” added Hart, a shooting guard who attends Sidwell Friends in the D.C. area. “A lot of us we like coach Johnson so that will definitely be taken into consideration when we’re kind of making our decision.”

Villanova would be in a similar boat when they bring Martin aboard.

“I like Villanova’s coaching staff,” Hart said. “They seem kind of genuine and that kind of thing. And also my 16s coach I think is going to be at Villanova so that’s never a bad thing.

“I know I will be taken care of with him there.”
