That would be nice. Been waiting for that class for sometime now. Although, getting Yancy and Cash in 1 class was pretty damn good. If you it 2 players like that every year, you'd have a very solid program. And I guess looking back the 2009 class was really solid with LS, SK, and Parker.

It's early so the 2011 class may be a good one, but I really think Mick his first opportunity for a killer class that year with so many openings and being in on some good talent he didn't land.

2013 class will certainly be a big one for Mick and program.

Unfortunately people tend to look at the stars next to a player's name during this time of year instead of looking at it like you have here (myself included sometimes). You can win a lot of games with classes like the two you mentioned above. I think Mick has the ability to land some of the cream of the crop to win even bigger than we have been the last couple of years. Unfortunately, it is an uphill battle and will take time for Mick to solidify his track record as a head coach with the top high school players. If Lance Stephenson can find his way on the court more next year, that would certainly help.

It's like deja vu all over again. :D

Dayton has offered 2013 NJ Playaz (NJ) PG Shane Rector, per @NYPost_Brazille.

St. Raymond's PG Shane Rector has been invited to Deron Williams Skills Academy. Will visit Umass in June. Tons of high majors calling.

Rector's getting some good press.

I like these quotes:

Talent evaluator Tom Konchalski has been impressed with Rector’s play. He said the lead guard can play at the Big East level “selectively,” and considered him right up there among the best point guards in New York City, if not the best one.

“He has unforced athleticism,” Konchalski said. “He has great quickness. He can get into the lane.”

Rector, who stands 6-foot-1 and attends St. Raymond’s (NY), listed scholarship offers from Providence and Hofstra. The Playaz Basketball Club standout also named Arizona, Iowa State, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, North Carolina State, Stanford, and UMass as programs involved in his recruitment.

“No, not right now,” Rector said when asked if he has any favorites.

The strong lead guard has only taken one visited thus far, but he has a couple of other trips in the works.

“I’ve visited Stanford,” Rector said. “I’m scheduled to UMass and Pittsburgh, though. That’s coming up.”

As for when those visits will take place, Rector remarked, “UMass is next week and [for] Pittsburgh we gotta make a date.”

There are a few schools in particular who Rector feels are coming at him the hardest.

“UMass is really coming at me hard, Iowa State, Stanford,” Rector said. “Who else? Pittsburgh. All the coaches have been calling me. They only get one call a month so it’s really hard to tell who’s at the top and everything.”

Despite the fact that he remains open, Rector does have an idea of when he would like to make his college choice.

“I mean, I would like to make my decision before the end of the summer, but we gotta just see what happens,” Rector said.

Asked if he is waiting on any certain offer before making his pledge, Rector replied, “No, I’m just—[I want to] see what feels right for me, so there’s no [specific offer].”

South Kent PG Shane Rector is officially reopening his recruitment, his father tells @SNYtv. Will keep Rutgers on his list.

Mentioned on another thread I wouldn't mind at all if UC took a look. Shane is that player that makes basketball plays and he can knock down a shot. His release is a little slow but I've always liked him.

I like the little that I've seen of Rector but I can't see UC taking too hard of a look at him. Would be a huge cluster at the guard position. Would have been perfect just about every other year when we've had open scholarships, but not this year with Caupain, KJ, and Morman (to an extent, more of a 3) in the fold early.

Saw a tweet that he has heard from the likes of Georgetown, UCONN, Pitt, and Missouri already. Will be a nice get for somebody.

Yeah, I hear ya, and honestly, if a pg were to be added, I'd want it to come via an experienced transfer who is able to play immediately.
