Cincinnati called 2013 CIA Bounce PG Tyler Ennis tonight, per his coach.

Strengths:
Tyler is a Canadian combo guard who can play either the one or the two but he is more of a scoring point guard. He's a solid shooter with range to 22 feet. He is good in transition and smooth scorer in the paint and from the mid-range. Excellent rebounder for a guard.

Weaknesses:
He's only an average athlete right now. He's also just an average defender.

Bottom Line:
Tyler is a good looking prospect who can really score the basketball. He has top 50-type talent in 2013 he just needs to start putting everything together.

Marshall is now expressing interest in Martin Dixon-Green & Tyler Ennis of CIA Bounce, per their coach. Cincinnati likes Ennis, too.

Per Adam Zagoria:

Tyler Ennis is one of the top point guards in the 2013 class.

One of the top point guards in his class, Ennis has an exquisite feel for the position. He isn't an explosive athlete, but he changes pace and plays in between the beats. Beyond his feel for timely passing, Ennis is also a knockdown shooter and a terrific finisher of tough layups.

NBE Basketball Report (NBE): What is your current height and weight?

Tyler Ennis (TE): 6’3, 180
———————————-

NBE: What is the best part of playing in the CIA Bounce program? How have they helped your development the most?

TE: The best part, next to winning of course, is the family atmosphere on and off the court. I’ve been playing with CIA bounce for most of my life so most of my development I got from being around these coaches and Canada’s elite players.
———————————

NBE: What are you looking forward to the most playing with St. Benedict’s next season?

TE: I just can’t wait to start playing games. After school starts there’s at least 2 or 3 months until you play so I just can’t wait to get in the season and start playing.
———————————-

NBE: What was the best part of the early July evaluation period for you on the court?

TE: The fact that I can just play. I got a little rest before South Sarolina so I felt pretty fresh coming in and I haven’t felt that fresh for a while so it felt good.
———————————–

NBE: During these evaluation periods, do you notice the coaches in the stands when your playing?

TE: When I was younger I would notice every coach but with Peach Jam there’s just too many. Sometimes I’ll look on the side and notice a coach and sometimes it helps me realize how lucky and blessed I am to have these opportunities.
———————————-

NBE: Since the July period began, what new offers have you received? What new colleges are in contact?

Buy Tickets to ANY event this summer at GREAT prices!

TE: This week Virginia and Boston College have offered. Pitt, Cincinnati, Villanova, Arizona State along with the schools I had before.

(Editors Note: Schools previously mentioned by Tyler Ennis to NBE include Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Louisville, Providence, Santa Clara, Iowa State, Oregon State, Seton Hall, Rutgers and West Virginia)
————————————

NBE: Currently, what schools that are actively recruiting you are you considering?

TE: The schools recruiting me the hardest are Seton Hall, Virginia, Iowa State and Santa Clara.
———————————–

NBE: Any leaders or favorites?

TE: I have no favorites right now.
————————————

NBE: What are you looking forward the most to close out the summer, either in AAU or away from hoops?

TE: I’m looking forward to the Caribana Classic at the end of the month. There’s gonna be a ton of coaches and I’m going to be playing against my brothers from CIA Bounce so you can’t get any better than that…
—————————————————————————————–

NBE will be certain to check in on Tyler Ennis and his CIA Bounce teammates during this final July evaluation period which begins tomorrow (7/22) and runs through 7/31. Stay tuned here for the latest developments in his recruitment as he continues to establish himself as one of the top guard prospects in the Class of 2013.

Per the RecruitScoop:

Cincinnati just offered Tyler Ennis his 5th scholarship of the day. The 2013 Canadian PG added Georgetown, Nova, Missouri & Marquette, too.

ALLENTOWN, N.J. — There is going to be a new player atop the Flagrant Fouls class of 2013 rankings when they are released tomorrow afternoon. Tyler Ennis, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound point guard who plays for St. Benedict's (NJ) has earned the right to be called the best player in his class.

Ennis spoke with Flagrant Fouls while at the Summer Shootout to discuss his new honor, his recruitment, his game, and more.

"It feels good because Nolan [Shulman] was actually the first one to rank me out of any sites for North America," Ennis said of being moved to No. 1. "So, I knew he [had] seen something in me from when he first started watching."

Asked where he feels he deserves to be ranked in Canada in 2013, Ennis replied, "I would–where Nolan has me right now [at No. 1]."

Ennis said that Xavier Rathan-Mayes, Agunwa Okolie and Mikyle McIntosh are the other players in the discussion.

"That's about it, that's about who's top three, top four," Ennis said. "That's who I'd put."

Clearly Ennis' ascent to the top spot involved hard work. He talked about what aspect of his game he improved upon.

"Actually, I feel like I got a little bit faster, to be able to get to the basket," Ennis said. "[I got a] little bit stronger, although I still gotta get stronger to be [ready for] college."

Ennis made an interesting point about the increased exposure he received this summer playing for CIA Bounce, something that could have helped his stock too.

"It was good because it was really the first time we played on the Nike circuit in all the big tournaments," Ennis said. "Got to show [that] all the Canadians are as good as the Americans."

Ennis went on in detail a bit more about CIA Bounce's impressive run this summer, focusing on the U16 level.

"We played . . . real good [and we] got to play in the big tournaments," Ennis said. "We saw we weren't ranked that high [entering the summer and] we wanted to show we're one of the top three teams in the country. BABC because they play, didn't get to play them. All the other teams, we showed that we beat them."

After his major showing in July, Ennis now has a plethora of schooling coming at him.

He listed Louisville, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, Rutgers, West Virginia, Arizona, Iowa State, Virginia, and Baylor as programs that have extended offers. Ennis said there are others as well and noted that Florida, Kansas and Wake Forest are showing interest.

Ennis does not have any favorites, but said Iowa State, West Virginia and Virginia are coming at him the hardest. He has yet to take any unofficial visits and has none planned. The silky smooth lead guard also noted he does not have a timetable.

"It's a plus, but it's not really gonna affect my decision," Ennis said of whether location will play a part in his choice. "It's not really a factor, but I like warm weather better than cold weather because I've been in cold weather my whole life."

Ennis listed passing and leading among the strongest points of his game and also cited his ability when it comes to "getting everyone involved."

As for his main weakness on the hardwood, Ennis remarked, "Strength right now, for the next level."

The rising junior plans to work on that by "just hitting the weight room more."

On who he compares his game to, Ennis said, "A little bit of Kyrie Irvinig [and] Deron Williams."

Memphis & Syracuse are the latest to express interest in Tyler Ennis, a 2013 PG from St. Benedict's (NJ).

The list of schools vying for the services of 2013 combo guard Tyler Ennis is continuing to grow. Ennis told Fivestarbasketball.com this past weekend that Kansas and Oklahoma State offered him recently. Ennis already had offers from Georgetown, Boston College, Villanova, West Virginia, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, Virginia, Cincinnati, Iowa State and Seton Hall.

"Its good, shows that hard work is paying off," Ennis said.

Ennis teams with Melvin Johnson (committed to Miami), Isaiah Watkins and heralded freshman Isaiah Briscoe for St. Benedict's. With so much Division 1 talent on the floor, a number of college coaches stopped by the Newark, New Jersey school during the open period. Rick Pitino, John Thompson III and Brian Gregory were just some of the head coaches to pop in to watch an open gym or two.

When it comes to schools, Ennis says he has no favorite but knows what his number one priority is.

"I'm looking for a school that develops point guards," Ennis said. "A school that wins and gets into the tournament every year and send guards to the pros."

Among the schools that have offered, Kansas (Josh Selby) and Georgia Tech (Iman Shumpert) sent players to the pros this past year.

When it comes to conference, Ennis doesn't particularly have a preference.

"I like the ACC, Pac 12," Ennis said. "I like all conferences, it just the school in general that I like. Conference doesn't play to much into the decision."

At 6-2, Ennis is ranked No. 34 by Rivals. Check him out in the video below courtesy of Flagrant Fouls.

Tyler Ennis (New York Panthers / 2013) – Ennis is a long and lean 6’2” and mans the point guard position for this Panthers group. He doesn’t wow you with freakish athleticism or highlight reel plays but consistently makes good decisions and puts his team in positions to score. Ennis showed range beyond the 3 point line both off the catch and the dribble but it was his vision that stood out the most. Always under control, he continually worked his way into the paint and found teammates for open looks. He is productive in pick and roll sets because defenders have to honor his jump shot and by doing so open up opportunities for the screener at the rim. As one of the younger players in the IS8 field, Ennis still managed to stand out and is clearly a future high major point guard.

“Louisville, Arizona, Memphis and Syracuse are probably all about the same right now, And Kansas is in there as well.” Ennis himself added Georgia Tech and Seton Hall to the list of schools working hardest for him.
