Paulding County (Ga.) power forward Rasean Davis started to generate some buzz among college coaches last weekend in Aiken, S.C. with a strong performance at the Peach State Summer Showcase. As well as he played then, he took his game to another level this weekend in Atlanta at the On the Radar Hoops Elite 32.

At around 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, Davis has really soft hands and really nice touch around the rim. The Smyrna Stars big man is a double-double machine and will also dish out some assists if defenders double down on him.

No schools had offered scholarships coming into the summer, and only a few schools had made contact with Davis. Jacksonville, Kent State and UNC-Asheville extended the first scholarship offers after last weekend. Cincinnati and Wichita State reportedly joined that list over the weekend.

The baselines are filled with head coaches at the Smyrna Stars games at ESPN's Wide World of Sports in Orlando to see Paulding County (Ga.) big man Raasean Davis play. Why? Well, he's the hot name this month and coaches from all levels want to get some eyeballs on him.

The 6-foot-7 wide-body was intriguing when we first saw him in March, consistently produced in April and May at Suwanee Sports Academy and now using July to catch the eyes of all coaches.

Life, Davis says, is changing.

"I've been getting a lot of calls," Davis said with a smile. "I think I've always been playing well but when I saw all of the coaches watching, I probably played a little bit harder.

Coming into July, the class of 2014 big man was offer-less. At the midway point in Orlando, Davis said he has offers from Jacksonville, Kent State, Southeast Missouri, Cincinnati, Lincoln Memorial, UNC Asheville and Presbyterian. Davis added Tennessee State, Charleston, Tennessee Tech and Texas A&M have shown an interest in him.

Davis said he's taking in the experience and trying to stay consistent with his play at AAU Nationals. The coaches continue to chart him and his recruitment still has the new car smell. It will be interesting to watch his story play out into the fall and chart which schools come to Paulding County to continue the evaluation process.

Just spoke to @SmyrnaStars big man Raasean Davis. Said he has 2 official visits scheduled: Cincinnati (Sept. 27), Hawaii (Oct. 25).

Could we have a DeBerry, Moore, Grantham/Clark, and Davis class? I would be happy with that. You get two talented guys, a veteran, and a project, nice mix.

I don't think Davis is an option if Clark commits tomorrow...

I agree, I think we have a great shot at Clark, but I think it will be close, as there are other good programs going after him. We definitely have as good a chance as any, but we are trying to pull him out of the South, which can be tough to do. Thankfully, Mick is known as an excellent closer, so having the last visit definitely helps.

Still dont see them taking those 5 and going over scholarship limit. Think both Grantham and Clark will be bearcats.

That's great, I'm glad to hear that you are confident. Getting those two will be tough, especially since we would have multiple guys with similar skill sets, but I trust what you guys say because I don't know nearly as much. If we miss out on one of the two, do you think we go PG/SG or go with Davis?

I think if they land either Clark or Grantham which I am about as positive as you can be in recruiting that they will land at least one, then I think Davis would no longer be an option. As for what they would go after I have no idea because it would most likely be someone that we have never heard of and will sign in the spring. As for Clark I dont see who else he could possibly choose. NC State bothered me in the beginning but with Abu committing they should be out. Clemson and Wake Forest are in his neck of the woods but they have always kind of been in 3rd and 4th place. Pitt couldnt convince him to come on campus. Just reading the writing on the wall it would appear Clark becomes a bearcat tomorrow. However I was pretty sure Quadri was headed to Seton Hall so take it with a grain of salt.

Guys Chad pretty much told me in the Moore convo. That tomorrow he would prove me wrong about Clark and what he knows so Chad knows Clark is coming to Cincinnati all you have to do is go re read it.

Thanks, sounds like things are going to get very interesting here. I know Clark is tomorrow, Grantham hasn't announced when he will choose, has he?

No. Should be fairly soon, but nothing is in the works in terms of an announcement yet. Still leery of Michigan and Beilein's ties to West Virginia...

Rightfully so, as Grantham is a WV boy. I still like our chances with him, as I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) we recruited him when he was a High Schooler. Didn't Grantham commit to WVU before deciding to go prep? Wonder why Huggs decided to stop pursuing him. Another thing to remember is that he is apart of the DC Assault, which we all know helps us, as Jackson still has strong ties within Assault. Should be interesting.....
