JUCO wing Bashir Ahmed will visit Cincinnati on 9/18 and Louisville at the end of Sept., source told @CBSSports. Visits SJU on 9/26. #sjubb

Was he the #1 juco we were referring to in another thread? Can't find a lot of info on him.

yep. Same school as Deberry, so makes you wonder if Mick or any of the coaches have a good relationship with the coach there. Lets hope

The jucos in Kansas are very underrated. D-1 players all over that conference in every sport. Not surprised we're going back to that well.

Nice. Rutgers got Deshawn Freeman from Hutchinson for this year though, so I wonder if that's tough competition for us. I know he's visited them before.

JUCO wing Bashir Ahmed (Hutchinson CC) will visit Cincinnati this weekend. Visits St. John's next weekend. Talented scorer. #sjubb

From Zags blog:

The visit was great, I enjoyed my weekend at Cincinnati,” he told SNY.tv. “The coaches was great and so were the players. I felt very comfortable. The players and coaches made me feel like I was apart of their team.

“It was a good environment. They have diversity with all kinds of cultures. I sat down and watched their practice and it was great. I think my style of play fits their system.”

Sounds great. Would be very excited to see him in a Bearcat uniform.

Same. From doing a little searching, it sounds like Louisville is only going for him as a backup option. Don't think they've even offered yet. Hopefully he isn't taking them too seriously, but they are a huge name, so of course they're gonna get his attention. He cancelled his (first) Rutgers visit so I would guess it comes down to UC and St. Johns. No source, just my opinion.

Reminds me a lot of Jamall crawford from the clippers. I think this would be a real good pick up for us

Not sure where you got that from...He looks to me like (hopefully) a more productive Shaq Thomas.

Shaq was a raw athletic freak. From what I've read about Ahmed, he's a little less athletic, but a more natural scorer. Has a decent shot too, which isn't really the case for Shaq.

Where did you read that at? Ahmed is a freak athelete who averaged 7+ RPG last year. He is not a natural scorer, but is a better shooter. I've heard Chad and others say that Ahmed is who the staff hoped Shaq would have become...
