Verbal Commits ‏@VerbalCommits: 2016 Trenton Catholic (NJ) G Myles Powell has received an offer from Cincinnati. @Myles_MBP_23 http://verbalcommits.com/players/myles-powell

@ChadBrendel
New UC offer Myles Powell was really good at EYBL Hampton. A little undersized, but can really shoot it. #Bearcats

Scout’s Notes:

Myles is a prospect who excels because of his ability to shoot the basketball. He can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor and is excellent in his ability to get open and find open spaces in the defense. Also a capable defender.

Player Profile

We are pursuing a lot of guards but they are to play the 2-3 spot plus with the Cumberland commit some of these are not being pursued anymore.

Lol I understand now, but I don't think this 6'0" dude is going to play the 3 at all....

He's a PG that can shoot. Still a PG

I say this all the time, don't get caught up in whether the player is a 1 or a 2, a 2 or a 3, etc. You are allowed to have more than 1 ball handler on the court at a time. I can almost guarantee that Mick, like nearly every coach in college hoops, is looking for a knock down shooter. If he happens to be 6'0", so be it. You find a place for those guys on your team.

Mick needs to reach out to another Trenton native on this one and have Biggie McClain recruit for us

Based on the way Biggie's career unfolded under Mick, I would be very surprised if he's someone who Mick could reach out to for help. I could be wrong though.

True, but he's had a pretty successful basketball career overseas. I believe he was at first with the Globetrotters and lately has been playing in Thailand

I doubt that just because a player doesn't turn into an all-american that they sever relationships with their coach.

Biggie is still around regularly when he's in town. Not how I'd act if I had a problem with my old coach...
