2016 North Royalton (OH) PF Omari Spellman - who recently attended a Dayton game - will attend the Cincinnati-Louisville game this weekend.

This kid already has a UC offer according to many websites.

Ended up next to him in a concession line at half time. Good frame, tall, strong. Nice kid was talking to some fans that figured out he was a recruit. Seemed like a very polite young man.

What are our chances of landing this kid? Seems like someone we could really use as an inside post presence that would make us very dominant in our conference.

SPELLMAN HAS A SLEW OF OFFERS
Omari Spellman, the No. 22 player in the 2016 class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, was less sure about his future recruitment when he spoke after his MacDuffie School team lost to Hargrave Military Academy.

Spellman scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds in what was a mixed effort. The 6-9, 240 pound Spellman mainly floated around the perimeter during the first half while settling for jump shots until using his impressive size to assert himself inside when his team started to fall behind in the second half.

Spellman has offers from a huge number of high major programs, including: UConn, Arizona, UCLA, Virginia, Memphis, Ohio State, St. Johns, Rutgers, Florida, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Villanova, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Miami, Iowa, Indiana, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and UNLV. (Despite previous reports, he doesn’t hold a Kentucky offer.)

Spellman says he has yet to put any real thought into the recruiting process and still needs to sit down with his mom and coaches to figure out where he wants to go.

Spellman has visited both UConn and Villanova for their Midnight Madness festivities but is in no rush to schedule any more visits.

“That stuff is up to my mom,” Spellman said.

We desperately need a major recruit to fall our way. Hopefully Spellman realizes that he can come here and get major minutes as a freshman instead of being part of a platoon.

I just hope sooner rather than later we can get one of these kids that can be impact players from the time they step on UC's campus. I'd like to see us get this kid and Rawle Alkins.

Gary Clark is that guy. But yes, with the talent in place already, if Mick can have a home run class in 2016, that could really take this team to the next level, i.e. deep tournament runs

If Mick can get a couple of these kids we should be set for the future IMO. DEEP TOURNAMENT runs is what are program needs.

I am not surprised that a top 20 recruit did not want to back up Gary Clark in the AAC.

I don't care what this kid was ranked by rivals or whatever... Gary Clark is the most fundamentally sound freshman PF that Cronin has ever landed.

As long as we keep landing kids like Clark, I will be happy.
