2017 F/C MALIK WILLIAMS UPDATES HIS RECRUITMENT

Williams has received four offers since the July recruiting period ended. Purdue, Cincinnati, Xavier and Michigan State have all offered Williams over the last seven weeks.

“Cincinnati offered me last month and they have been keeping in touch ever since,” Williams said.

Cincinnati also recently offered Williams' brother, Devlyn. Devlyn is a junior college wing at Chattanooga State Community College. That could end up benefiting the Bearcats with Malik.

I believe we were only recruiting his brother in order to get him. Without Malik, we dont take his brother. But either way, I think the ship has sailed with Williams

Idk if the ship has sailed but it's going to be hard to pry him away from Indiana IMO.

Per Zagsblog Williams will cut his list in August. Right now it looks like it is the following:
Purdue
Indiana
Louisville
N.C. State (sounds like no connection but does hold an offer)
Mich St
Gtown
Xavier
Iowa
CINCINNNATI

He said he will cut his list to around 5 in August. Not sure how we will convince him to come when he would go anywhere and start but does he come to Cincy and start behind Washington and Clark? We would need Washington to be ok with being the 6th man.

I get that minutes are important to legit recruits, but other than Clark and Washington, who will both be seniors next year, we have very little front-court depth. Williams could probably find a way to get 20+ minutes his frosh year, assuming he played well, then as many as 35 minutes sophomore year. Clark and Washington shouldn't scare Williams away. I'm honestly not even sure if we're still in on this recruit, as I've heard nothing for a long time now, but playing time should not be a factor here.
