It doesn't check out. Playing time? Why wouldn't he get playing time here again? Bc of guys like Moore, Williams, and Diarra who have done nothing? He's older than those guys too.

Frustrating. The conference excuse is at least understandable in a lot of cases. But this dude would rather go to the worst team in the history of our league than the best? Shouldn't be a hard sales pitch for a 2 seed with a new arena who lost the top 3 scorers, including one who went pro early at his position. I'd imagine Cumberland will be on the ball a lot next year too. So there isn't anyone on the wing in his way at all if he's a good player. What exactly did we tell this guy about Williams and Moore? Was he thinking he'd automatically be behind them on the depth chart? How else would he think that playing time would be an issue here?

Where's that new arena recruiting bump when you need it? I guess you have to be able to get the guys on campus first.

I'm losing faith quickly. I think this past season is as good as it will ever get. And here we are getting cut from the list of a juco player we want, in favor of FAR inferior programs. Bad job on this one. No way around that.

i get the frustrating but to try to figure out why someone that none of us know, is making a decision is impossible. could be nothing to do with basketball. Could be a girlfriend. literally no clue. I don't know if he is even good

Yeah I hear you. All I'm going on is being told we wanted him but that he'd rather play in the Atlantic Sun. That's basically like turning down Duke to go to UC. Never happens regardless of playing time, or anything else.

Not talking about this guy in particular cause I don't know anything about him, but I can understand a guy that doesn't figure to play basketball after college to want to go somewhere where he can play a lot of minutes. If his goal is to utilize a free education and play ball an enjoy himself while he's in college I totally get not wanting to ride pine or be the 7th/8th option on a team. Again, not talking specifically about this guy

Yeah it seems like that would happen more in the lower levels to me. It seems like the guys UC recruits have dreams of playing pro in some form. At least that's the impression I was under.

I'm curious about this recruitment. Who told this guy there wasn't playing time here? Was it a coach recruiting against us? Or did we try the Gary Clark approach and scare him off? Or something else?

this is what i was thinking. I would think some players realize they aren't going pro or maybe they don't want to. It's a lot of work and I'm sure some get burnt out. I have know idea but I could see a guy wanting to spend his last couple years (or any years) on a beach

might not have even got to that level. Could have called, he said no thanks and hung up the phone

Would really like to get R. Fredericks, but it will be hard because all the other teams are closer to where he grew up- Tampa Fla. Do I think he will be great ? I don't want to say because I'm on a losing streak, I thought T.Scott and K. Williams would both contribute early. He was 2 time TN. JUCO player of the year and last game in the JUCO tournament he had 36 pts. 9 reb. and 0 to's in a 86-82 loss to the #3 JUCO team.
 
Just a reminder Cheik Mdoj ( I'm positive that's mispelled), Adam H , and a host of others were ranked way higher in JUCO and put up like 18 and 10 per/gm... that didn't translate well.... did it... I understand we had a diamond in the rough in Kilpatrick but does Mick think he's going to find a whole team of them... doubt it... how the CATS cant recruit alittle better is beyond me

Fredericks is legit and can stroke..This iis no diamond in the rough. This would be a solid get and I think we just got in on him early enough but plenty of schools would take him
