Regarding the poll, I think winning the AAC championship game is the main goal. You always want to best your regular season foes and win the CCG. This will accomplish getting to a bowl with relative certainty. I'd love to win the bowl too, but so much of a bowl game is a different and getting the extra practice and trip is huge for the next season/recruiting. It's too early to say New Year's Six or bust and winning Bowl game isn't as important as regular season and CCG IMO.

In general, I agree with wanting to win the CCG. This year though, I can't say I expect it. It does help that there was coaching turnover in the league. And our schedule doesn't seem all that unmanageable. I'm hoping for a 7-6/8-5 type season and something to build on for the future. Obviously anything better would be great, but I just can't put that on Fickell right away after taking over Tornado Tubby's wreckage.

Foundation!

Maybe, Tornado Tubby was just laying a strong foundation??

7-5 seems pretty reasonable based on that schedule.

I'm not really worried too much about results this coming season, it's about cleaning up the mess that Tommy created and setting a solid foundation for what our program will become in the next few years.

Miami of Ohio might actually be a game next year............

@MikeDyer
Colerain Tom Bolden told me Kyle Bolden and Jarell White worked out today at #UC. "They're fired up and ready to go." @GoBEARCATS

That schedule is a tough one to bite for us season ticket holders. Yikes!

Really nothing exciting about the opponents scheduled to play at the Nip, but I am very interested to see just how much the team improves from last year. The record IS important, but what I really want to see is a team that plays smart and hard; and a coaching staff that makes adjustments and has good game management. I'm also very interested to see just how UC matches up with the opposition from a SPEED persepecive. I've really thought the team has been way behind most of the other teams in the conference in that department for the last couple of years. I'm hoping that some of the new players may help in that area.
