has Gates really matured throughout the season/his career?...his emotions on the bench towards the end of the game said it all. I have questioned his dedication throughout the years, but seeing him tonight removed all doubts. I hope he and the rest of the team remembers these emotions, and use them as fuel for next year. I am so proud of this team and the coach. I am grateful to the seniors who led the way. I am very impressed with the toughness of Cash. In the end, it was a great, great season, and the future is looking solid. Thanks Bearcats for the memorable season.
Go Bearcats!

Just ran into the best player in the nation tonight, couple that with the horribly officiated first half that took UC out of sync and the no call travel when it was a 2 point game and you get a loss.

Nothing to be ashamed of this year. They finished 26-9, losing only to Big East teams. I am extremely proud of those guys...and for the first time since probably Bobbits and Field Williams last year, I'm excited about next year.

And to Yancy: Let your emotions pour out Big fella, you earned it...

Jeremy Lamb can shoot the freaking ball!

UC gets someone like that and look out. Dissapointing end to a very solid season.

I'm splitting hairs here, but I don't feel this ending was disappointing. It hurts like hell- but it's not disappointing when you lose to a team that very well could end up in the final four and has (probably) the national player of the year.

I almost lost it myself when they panned to him at the end... the funniest part was the announcers were talking about how hard it is to end your career in the NCAA Tournament and how it happens so suddenly when they didn't realize Yancy wasn't crying for himself- he was crying for his seniors.

Well said psax. I also read Yancy's lips when he came out of the game at the end and he said, "No way. You have got to be kidding me." He was a wreck and I think you hit it on the head when you said that he was emotional for the seniors on that team. This team was a real tight group and it showed all year long. I love this team.

Hell of a season!! I still wish Kemba was ours. I guess I'll get over it when he goes pro after this season. What a great showing that was much closer than the score! There were some turning points that made the difference and UCONN just made some shots. I really feel for these seniors. They came in at maybe the worst time in UC history and built a solid foundation!! With that being said I feel that it's time to move into the top tier of this conference with senior leadership, some true point guards to spell cash and a couple of big guard small/ forward scorers. It was a great showing on national TV and it helps recruiting for 2012 with Macon and Hammons we willl be big, deep, and athletic!! Cannot wait for next year and I hope UCONN wins the national title.

Did I mention I love Dan Hoard. From twitter today:

Dan_Hoard Question at airport security...if a TSA agent pats-down Kemba, does he get 2 free throws?

Dan_Hoard Shortly after he emerged from the womb, a doctor slapped the infant Kemba on the tush. He calmly sank both free throws.

Dan_Hoard Wasn't widely reported last week, but President Clinton received a flagrant foul for shaking hands with Kemba at BE tourney
