AAC Awards

This may have been the best news we have had in awhile. The ultimate bulletin board material. The team and its players have been totally disrespected. can't wait to see how they react on the court. I really feel much better about our chances in the conference tourney. The coaches just ensured that they will get our best effort.

The "Who would you replace?" argument isn't relevant to us. We're the ones who went 16-2. We shouldn't have to gripe. We earned our respect and still didn't get it.

Its pretty funny how stupid this conference is. Cincinnati absolute smashed Houston twice and I'm supposed to believe Gray and Dotson are better than Cincy's starting 5? Neither of those two guys would start on out team. Joke conference.

What better way to flip off the coaches then to win the Tourney. I would rather our kids be on the all Tournament team anyway while holding a Championship trophy.

here's how it should be:

First Team:
Gary Clark
Shake Milton
Semi Ojeley
Sterling Brown
Kyle Washington

Second Team:
Troy Caupain
Jacob Evans
Ben Moore
Rob Gray
BJ Taylor

That's it. You don't get no damn awards for losing. Sorry. There are only two teams that matter in this crappy conference and I threw Houston and UCF a bone for being the best of the rest (first seat on the short bus).

I would take our starting 5 against the 1st team all conference team in a match played on the floor.

Just ridiculous. This league just continues to be idiotic. Chad Brendel said something a few podcasts ago that really stuck with me about how maddening the AAC is.

He mentioned how this might be one of the only leagues that doesn't cater a little bit to its top performing team. UC has and is the most consistently successful team. Making the tournament, nationally ranked, winning, basically giving the AAC national recognition. But yet, they consistently slight UC every chance they get. Specifically this year, we play two road Senior Day games. But yet they give SMU two home games to ride out the season. Why wouldn't you give one of your top performing schools the best pathways for positive exposure? Wouldn't you want schools like UC to sell your brand? The AAC is bad all around.

The AAC probably thought UConn would be cream of the crop with their recruiting and their COY Ollie, remember Cronin has not won anything. Just a joke conference all around. The pollsters have been lazy voting this year so why would it change for the AAC awards.

Use this as a chip, win the AAC tourney and survive and advance in the NCAA's as far as they can.

On a ****** team, the star shines brighter.

That's my only explanation for the snub.

I think you are right Waite. I think this is going to give us great motivation. At this time of year...Any extra motivation you can muster is good. Getting disrespected is going to be a factor!

Honestly, the snubs say a lot about our balance and depth.

I bet it's really hard to Scout our team and figure out which guy to shut down

Don't know if this has already been posted but Cumberland won co-sixth man of the year with Emelogu from SMU.

Are you serious? He can't just win it outright? They had to get an SMU guy who averages under 5 ppg in there?

Shouldn't Evans get Co-Most Improved if we're sharing sh*t? They didn't name him All-Newcomer last year and this year he led us in scoring. What a joke.

Look at the description under Cumberland and Emelogu. It's pretty clear one deserves it more than the other.

Vital from UConn would've been a much more worthy candidate than Emelogu.

Funny how the 1st and 2nd team All-AAC teams were awarded based on "scoring" and "numbers" then this guy from SMU is rewarded for just taking up space on the court for a team that had no depth.

I did some math a while back in terms of points scored per Minutes played. I think Washington would have been second to Gray had he averaged around 35 minutes per game.

The conference needs to do a better job of figuring out who the "actual" best players are... Including defense!! Only 50 percent of the game is offense. Evans and Clark should be on that team!!
