Not AAC hoops, but Xavier was dominated by Nova last night. Not too surprising, as it was @ Nova and they're a damn good team, but boy is Xavier bad on the road. Their defense is abysmal. 2-3 now in the Big East. It's impossible to predict how they'll play in the Shootout, seeing as they almost always over-perform, but if they play @ Fifth Third like they play most road games, we should have this one.

I'm not sure how we match up with them. They can't defend the 3 at all, but we can't shoot it. Stainbrook will probably give Ellis fits down low with is fatness. X shoots the 3 pretty well too and from multiple guys, so that could be a problem.

Bluiett seems to have hit a bit of a freshman wall as he's shot 40% or below from the field in 8 of their last 9 (32.8 % for those 9 games compared to 55.3 % his first 9 games.)

I actually think it will be the other way around. I've watched a couple eggsavier games and Stainbrook is always and I mean ALWAYS the last one down the court.

He's slow and not in shape. Ellis runs the floor very well for a big guy and is significantly more athletic. Ellis should run circles around him.

Xavier's defense is atrcious. If UC defends the 3 and Ellis stays out of foul trouble they win by 10.

I think that at least for some of the time Stainbrook is in the game, DeBerry will be a good body to put on him. He can bang with Stainbrook and he won't be pushed under the hoop when Stainbrook does his only move of pounding ball on floor and backing his man down.

Anyone care about the game tonight? We don't play Xavier for over a month...who the hell cares how we guard Matt Stainbrook?

Damn, just a little off topic Shootout talk. Nothing to get upset about...

Seriously. There's another thread where we're talking about the Memphis game. Xavier is a local team that we do play in a month, so excuse me for being curious if anyone caught the game.

.

Too bad we play one of the slowest tempo's in the country. If we didn't, these would be great points.

Ellis struggles on both ends against stronger players (Stain has to have some strength from carrying all that fat around).

Weren't you the one that said if you don't like a post ignore it and move on???

I wish there was something to move on to...just fake Mick Cronin rumors and Matt Stainbrook talk all week. Not 1 post today about our must win conference game on ESPN tonight...

I don't have a problem at all with anyone mentioning a Xavier game. I'm just stunned that everyone would rather discuss that than what's going on later today with our own team.

I've already posted my thoughts on the game. Go ahead and post something, and maybe we'll reply lol.

This is silly, let's move on.

The AAC is a mess right now. UC, Uconn, Memphis are all struggling. SMU is now in trouble with the NCAA and Frazier is out for the year. Pastner is on the hot seat and may be fired at the end of the year. Their crowd against us was pathetic.

They way league play is going right now is it possible that the AAC is a one bid league?

3 bid league. SMU, Cincinnati and one of Tulsa, UConn and Temple.
