Wow I didn't realize that either, but based on our other sports salaries, it doesn't surprise me. Still making more than Florida State AD? Now that is surprising.

Yeah, it was very interesting to see some differences. Who knew the Vandy AD made so much $$$?

David Williams is not your traditional AD. In 2003 Gordon Gee, who is now at OSU, drastically restructured Vanderbilt's athletic department. The University basically absorbed the roles of the athletic department into the division of student life. Gee wanted athletes to be more like normal students, not a separate entity. Williams is also a tenured facilty member of Vanderbilt's Law School.

I also caught that, but I couldn't believe how far ahead he was of other, more prominent ADs. I would've thought that OSU wold pay a lot more for Gene Smith to cover up scandals, I mean, be AD.

Good point. I had no idea what AD's made either. Based on his importance to UL's athletic success, I would have guessed that Jurich would have easily been around $2.5M, if not more.
