He has zero 5 stars as far as I can see.

They lost their top 3 scorers from last years LOSING team LOL. We returned our top 3 scorers and the player of the year. if you think they are the same, your out of your damn mind.


I personally was never going to bring Mick's successes or failures at UCLA up again since it literally has Zero to do with UC basketball.


But since you did.. Who has a better 2nd year? Mick Cronin or John Brannen? CJB brings in a super unheralded class, meanwhile Mick will bring in a top 10 player and is in on another top 15 player.

So Who has a better 2nd year?


You act like it burns if UCLA loses lol.


LOL someone mentioned MY NAME specifically in a thread about frickin Alabama A&M in regards to UCLA losing.

I didn't say once that UCLA looks good this year nor did I say they looked bad.

Some people have given Cronin a lot of credit for keeping the roster in place and now it's a complete rebuild? CJB has replaced over half of his roster. 7 of our players are either (last minute) transfers or frosh. One other guy won't be playing this year at all. Two other Cronin recruits (Diara and Moore) have been somewhat of a bust to this point in their careers.

Brannen inherited 3 players who can play at this level right now. One of them is extremely good. The other two are pretty good.

He kept players he didn't recruit on the roster. But these players were never apart of a winning culture. They never recruited to defend their ass and the roster wasn't constructed in a way Mick would have wanted.

I commend Mick for not forcing kids out of what could have been their dream school. I think it was pretty awesome of him.

CJB returned its 3 leading scorers from a winning team. Mick lost 3 of its best scorers from a losing team. If you think they inherited the same kinda situation, then you're purposely being dense.


I think UCLA ends up being better than UC as quick as next season. I mean, we will be 3-star recruit island with just 2 4-stars on the roster. UCLA will have a 5 star PG and a bunch of 2nd year in his system 4 stars. UCLA will be preseason top 25 next season, UC will not.

Its literally Mick's players who are keeping this season from being a complete rebuild. If you don't believe that, and you think this team is just as good without Tre, Keith and Jarron, its Brannens guys who will carry us, then i'll call you crazy. Because I've seen nothing from anyone other than Jaevin that shows they could carry this team.


And People forget that Jaevin cumberland was rumored to come here long before Mick left. Go to listen to some old skinny podcasts. Jaevin was likely coming regardless of who the coach was, as long as Jarron came back.

SOMEONE Literally posted in the ALABAMA A&M thread about UCLA losing and mentioned my name. If UCLA wins Maui I wasn't going to mention it and if they lost every single game I wasn't going to mention it.

Because it doesn't F'n matter. He don't coach here no more.

I just get pissed that some people act like we got this automatic upgrade in Brannen. I hope he is an upgrade. But as of today, he still has a long long way to go.

I get mad (not really)when people act like mick is the only coach that can have success here. Or that he is the best coach we will ever have. Or that the program will never recover from losing him. Cronin is a good coach. He isn’t coach k.

I don't know why you get so "pissed". Some people think we got an automatic upgrade? So what? Some people think we got an automatic downgrade. Most people have no clue yet but are waiting to find out. Many of them were okay with either option or perhaps just ready for a change. Most of us believe we may or may not know in year one what we have unless it becomes readily apparent. It could also take a few years to get a full picture.

I actually am mad about Cronin getting in to multiple tournaments that are only broadcast through flohoops. Maybe the worst thing he ever did.

Because I happened to enjoy the last 5 or 6 years of the Cronin era and a lot of people on this board and others showed their displeasure with Cronin every single day on the message board for years on end. They made a 30 win program feel like a 3 win program. And it’s now hilarious that these same whiny ass people want me to just get on board with zero complaints as if they didn’t make the message board toxic not too long ago.

But again. Someone broke topic to rub it in that mick Cronin’s team lost, when I haven’t mentioned UCLA since the games started.

Right now I’m fine with the state of UC basketball.

But I’m absolutely think we aren’t going to be playing for a 2nd weekend until recruiting picks up. That’s the promised land right ? Sweet 16’s? We better start getting together a sweet 16 roster before that happens.
