Are we good?

I was responding on the Notre Dame game. Mick got outcoached before that game started. I don't know if I'd say Mick outcoached Lavin, but he did a good job of utilizing the right mix of players late in the first half and late in the second half for his team to out execute St. Johns. I didn't see anything in our gameplan that St. Johns wasn't ready for. Their defense was good, reminded me of our defense alot. Our boys fought and scrapped their way to an ugly win -- Bearcat style!!

SJU and UC are nearly identical. We're better offensiely, but only marginally.

Tons of athletes, quick, but limited skill.

The game was ugly. I'm still surprised UC won.

Our offense looks clueless at times.

Lack of hustle and court savvy still occurs.

I do like the frosh who are playing.

UC still has no leader, no go-to guy.

UC's defense at times makes me think of a bull-fight.

Can't/won't take a charge.

That said...St Johns was at home, is a good team...and I still hold out hope that Mick can find a way to impart much-need knowledge on this team.

Want to clear up the fact that St. Johns beat G'town and Notre Dame in MSG not in their on campus arena where the game was yesterday. So Ralph, your point is invalid.

The point is even more valid as St. John's is much tougher to beat at their band box gym than they are at MSQ. WVU could not beat St. John's at WVU.

I'd rather play at MSG than at Carnasseca. MSG has a more neutral court feel.

Absolutely! I was very frustrated when the schedule came out and I saw we had road games at the Pavillion instead of the Sixers arena and then Carnasseca instead of MSG. It is much harder to win in those HS style gyms.
