what do we need happen besides winning last two games and usf beating louisville to get the BCS birth?

We actually need WVU to lose and Uconn to beat Rutgers. Louisville and Pitt are a non factor if we win both games. We own the tiebreaker over those two teams. So if we win and WVU loses either of the last two and UConn pulls off the win against Rutgers then we win the BCS berth for the Big East.

They kept saying on TV that UC needed UConn to beat Rutgers. Why? I don't think thats the case at all. If WV loses to USF and Rutgers had won, wouldn't it go to BCS between UL, Cincy, and Rutgers? Wouldn't we win that? I must be missing some sort of technicality there. If WV doesn't lose to USF, none of it matters for us anyway whether Rutgers won or lost.

By Rutgers losing, it takes them out of the picture. Had Rutgers won, and WVU won out, UC would have been 1-2 against the other 3, two loss teams. This would have eliminated them. I believe WVU would have been 2-1 and Louisville would have been 2-1 as well. UC needed a Rutgers loss.

I understand that if WV wins out, but if WV wins out we were already out anyway. I don't see any scenerio where we would have otherwise gone, but won't anymore by Rutgers winning.
