And tell me how that attitude has changed anything in that time frame? Negativity is so draining. No offense. I choose to see the good in everything.

Bearcat Jeff is the Tim Urban from Idol. Smiling all the while as the judges crucify him. While the judges don't get it, he is putting a positive spin on things, and being optimistic. Don't ask me how I know all this.

Bearcat basketball does not make the world go round. So I think its pretty easy being me.

I simply point out facts and move on. Some of you need to lighten up and take it for what it is worth.

If you say you were satisfied with this past season. You are kidding yourself.:D

What facts are you pointing out? I do not see any. To make a factual judgement on Mick's 4th year you need to find a program that started over from scratch to make a factual comparison with. Baylor?, maybe, so what was Scot Drew's record at Baylor the 2006-2007 season, his 4th year?

You refuse to recoqnize UC is still rebuilding, 2009-2010 was not the finished product.

How does an april fools day joke thread get turned into this? Dudes...seriously, lighten up. The season is OVER.

Cronin is already let it be known that he's not opposed to making some much needed moves. Let's give him a chance and find out who he can possibly bring in. Our team could actually look much better next year. Until then, I'm not going to spend the next 7 months worrying about it.

Where have you been...

-The player production from year to year. Vaughn, Dixon, Gates, Bishop, Davis, All down.
-Maui, fairly impressive. All for what?? A let down
-2nd round loss in the NIT. Not improving considering they would have made the NIT last year with less talent if not for losing to DePaul. (As we saw the Big East is not better this year either)
-I look at the overall team. Team does not execute, team does not hit free throws, team does not listen. Like it or not that has to fall on the head coach
-I may have mispoken earlier. BearcatJeff said it was a ridiculous statement. I said Mick does not coach correctly. Should have said he is not getting through to the players. Coach in a way they can relate to you. Is that not the sign of a good coach? Getting the most out of your players...

The only response I get is that Mick started with nothing. That is not a reasonable answer to me that he is doing a good job. The eye test does not lie.

The positive was Maui for me and it seemed to all evaporate

How dumb do you have to be to use the "they would have been in the NIT last year if they didn't lose to DePaul" as a reason why this team didn't improve.

THE TEAM DID LOSE TO DEPAUL LAST YEAR. You don't get to pick and choose your results.

Also, this team played a significantly harder schedule this year than they did last year. The Big East was stronger at the top last year, but the schedule overall last year wasn't on the same level as the one UC played this year. And that is not debatable.

Every objective computer metric points to improvement.

Even our overall Big East record (9-12) was better than the 8-11 record posted last year.

We made the NIT this year and fairly easily as a 2 seed.

If you are at all objective and at all intelligent, you HAVE to come to the conclusion that we improved this year. Its not debatable.

Maybe its not enough for you. I agree that this season as a whole was a disappointment despite the improvement. But we did improve. Its not debatable.

Hopefully the improvement is more significant next year.

Even more reason to not like Mick's coaching ability. (Losing to Depaul)
Every computer ranking except winning pct!
The reason their schedule was tougher was because of Maui!! I'm not debating that. Im using that as a measuring stick. How can you beat Vandy, Maryland then go on to lose to St. Johns, USF and Seton Hall. The Big East was not that great this year. Computer ranking aside, we saw what happened in the NIT and except for WVU the BEAST did not do well in the NCAA Tourny Either.

Good post. There was improvement this year, and that is not debatable. We will see more next year, and if recruiting goes well this will continue in the following years, and we will return to our rightful place in the college basketball landscape.

Winning percentage does not take into account strength of schedule. Would you have been happy if we played 30 teams in the bottom half of the RPI and went 30-0 this year without being challenged? Of course not. Winning percentage needs to be put into context in order to make sense. Without doing that, it is a stupid argument.

Also, 3 games in Maui didn't do enough to drastically effect our SOS. It certainly made a difference, but it was not the sole difference.

Again, improvement is not arguable. If you try, it only reflects poorly on yourself. It may not be enough for you (it wasn't for me, but I'm also not willing to fire our coach over it either), but it was definitely there.
