In response to a post that stated Bishop threw a punch at Mick in practice, but missed.

From what I'm told there was no punch thrown, after the regular season was over Hoppo was done, voiced that the team was done and the season was over and skipped a meeting then showed up to travel to MSG and was told hey if you think the season is over there is no reason for you to go, so we'll see you later. Take it for what it's worth, but that came from someone on the coaching staff. - Ryno99 on BCN.

If that is true, I hope he is permanently removed from the team. We won't accomplish anything with slapsticks acting a fool.

Nice knowing ya, "Hoppo."

FWIW, I don't believe in "innocent until proven guilty."

It is not true.

Be interesting to see if Bishop is at the UC hoops banquet on Tuesday the 6th.

The only thing "innocent until proven guilty" means is that in criminal law the burden of proof is on the prosecution. It is not a real right to presumption in the United States. In fact if your defense is an affirmative defense (self defense, insanity, etc.) you are not "innocent until proven guilty". One step farther it is only for the law system this applies, the court recognizes that the jury and the public usually infer the accused committed the crime.

And no where in the constitution are you given the right of "innocent until proven guilty". You are protected by the 4th, 5th, and 14th ammendments and thats as close as it gets.

He just needs to be gone. Yancy needs to be next if his light bulb doesn't come on. It was obvious the past couple seasons some guys laid down. Get them out!! I like the fact Mick is getting tough. He sees the writing on the wall. His job is on the line.

I was sitting right behind the bench at the first BE tournament game and was told that Bishop had missed an important practice or team meeting. After he was rounded up, Bishop made a statement to the effect that "why should he come to practice? They weren't going to win anyway".

Nice attitude, No? :p

Bishop was not at the Banquet.

So anyway you look at it, whether it was a punch thrown, he said the season was over, and he skipped the banquet. I hope we get rid of this fool. We don't need that kind of player in a Bearcat uniform. Lets go get Ratliff, Burton, and anyone else we can find that will play hard and smart.

I don't see Bishop coming back, at all. UC has three players coming in, and with Biggie possibly leaving, LS, and Biship 'gone'....we're going to see an interesting offseason for Mick. This is his greatest chance at keeping his job, and moving the team forward.

Amen.

Buy-in or get out.

Bishop never bought in, IMO.

For the record, I'm not big on Davis either.

I am a huge fan of Ibra and Wilks. I can live with mistakes....God knows I've made a ton in my life.

I can't live with a piss poor attitude, effort and mentality.

Progam > Individual

Lance leaving does move out a lightening rod. Obviously, Davis had problems with him at least once. Interesting to see if Davis can improve, get a better attitude, or if he in fact departs (voluntarily or not). If Davis can't shoot the three, his time of play is going to equal that of what Biggie saw. Parker (even Dixon) and Killah are going to chew up his minutes.

In any event, the team should have less drama next year...but I wonder who will lead the team, as Lance was the obvious (possibly only) suspect next year.
Look for Thomas to possibly step up, as Cash could...but he needs to lead by example first, and then vocally.

Going to be interesting.

I am 100 % that I want Bishop back. WE DONT HAVE A SMALL FORWARD. He has scored 20 points in a Big East game before. He is our best defender.

He didn't rape nobody, he didnt kill nobody... (sorry but this is my ManRam comment that I had to get in)

But seriously he didn't do anything that was so off the wall. He is a very good rebounder too.

BRING HIM BACK.

I respectfully disagree.

Let's play Wilks at the 3 and go small if that doesn't work.

I'd go w/ Wilks at the three as well. He's done nothing but improve, IMO.

Bishop essentially quit on the team, and if MC doesn't want him around, neither do I. This team (and we talked about this before) needs to gel, and guys like that apparently aren't helping. Butler made it to the NC because they can shoot, hustle, and act like an unselfish team. We exhibited few of those traits last year, and less often than I would have hoped.

The guy quit on the team, if what was has been speculated is true. You want someone like that back? I'm sure the rest of the team is just fine with him not being on it.

I was hoping (praying??) that Bishop would lead this team next year, as LS was at one point expected to be gone. I feel bad for him, but throwing away the opportunity that he had, giving up on the team? Who among us would have done that? Seriously lacking in leadership skills.
