To those that are saying I won't ban somebody cause they are my friend.... You are right. For a very long time it was Jason, adrock, me, livinglegend, dontmisshim and kcourt and some others but then new people pop up and want these guys banned? I rarely, if ever ban people for any reason no matter if they are a friend or not. We have always been relaxed on rules here. Post funny pics or YouTube clips, use whatever language you choose to. If I believe someone was purposely trying to derail topics without ever contributing I would get rid if them.

Same with Ralph. He contributes humor to the board. Not everyone enjoys his bit but some do.

How many people have actually been banned permanently? Seems like guys like Ralph/BearcatMick just make the same posts over and over, and get banned for a few days/weeks/etc and then come back with the same posts. Is there an ignore feature? I haven't checked but if there isn't one, there needs to be.

Those used to be the glory days of this board. SWG was in there too.

Huggins in used to be rockin. Some hilarious posts were made back when it was the small amount of people. Just look at some of the posts of the week stuff. Classic.

I don't have a problem with KCourt and most others. Personally I feel Ralph and BearcatMick are tired acts, but I digress. I think KCourt can bring things to this board and I agree that he has good basketball knowledge. The problem I have lately is in the amount of Xavier talk. If there is a reason to talk about Xavier, fine. At this point in the offseason, I don't see a reason to talk about Xavier, at all. I welcome KCourt posting here about UC and giving his perspective. My problem is when threads get hijacked (by anyone...you all know who you are) or when the vast majority of conversation turns to Xavier on a UC board. Let's be honest, XU is a lightning rod for many people and I get why those threads have the most comments but can anyone who is not a Xavier fan honestly say they have read the entire thread? I skim through it at best. Nothing new happening here. Move on. That's the attitude I have towards it. I would love to talk about Ellis being gone without it having to turn towards what Xavier would have done. Who cares? He didn't play for Xavier. What they do is their business and the only time that was relevant was after the fight because it occurred between both schools. At this point, it doesn't matter. I only care about what Mick and UC does. That is why I am here on a UC board. We should be talking about recruits and expectations for next year's team. That is my opinion.

I don't like banning people but I think we all know as the board gets bigger, more bannings happen. I like the relaxed style here but we all need to be respectful of each other or something will have to be done. Have differences of opinion PLEASE but be respectful in how you agree or disagree. We all have instances where certain people get under our skin. I get it but I also look at patterns and I think the few bad apples try to ruin it for the majority of us.

There are Xavier fans here and while I don't get why they are here, we have to accept the fact that they are. I would ask that they contribute to this board without trying to needle UC fans (this is a UC fan site after all) and make everything said about Xavier. At the same time, I am asking all UC fans to quit making everything about Xavier. There are a few UC fans on this board that feel the need to rip on Xavier at any opportunity. Be better than that. Talk smack during Xavier week. Save it for then. No one wants to read it right now. Can we all agree on this? Please? I find myself coming here less and less. This site used to be my homepage. I would like to feel the need to show up here several times a day as I used to. Right now I just have better things to do with my time. Let's get this thing back on track. It is going to take everyone to do this. The mods can't do it alone though I agree we all need to be on the same page too.

This can all be solved by respect. Respect from poster to poster and respect mod to mod and mod to poster. I do take acception that nobody should ever be banned or that GR81 won't ban a friend when they are obviously driving threads off track but it is what it is. Unlike him I believe there is a time to remove somebody for a few days to reset things if necessary. This board has knowledgeable posters and could be a very good board. Nothing gets anywhere without direction. That's the mods job, to direct the flow of the board and make it attractive to everyone. I will admit that since a certain incident I rarely read much of the threads anymore because I know something will piss me off and there is nothing to do about it. I try to stick strictly with recruiting or will comment on the most recent posts. To make this work there has to be guidelines guys. A river without banks is a swamp. If this, do and say whatever you please stuff continues I can say I will not be here much longer. I want to have fun but I want to have good talk about UC athletics. Enough said let's move on.

I will say that there have been a lot of people that are saying something along the lines of "I don't mind an XU fan's point of view, but he's just way over the top", well those people are lying.

I don't know how many people were around when this board really started to pick up, but I was, and it was believed that I was a UC fan. I had disagreements with people, however good conversation was going on. The second it was known I was a Xavier fan, my points and style didn't change, but the reaction certainly did. Any point I made about UC basketball, was attacked by a lot on the board because it was coming from a Xavier fan. I was making the same exact points days earlier, but posed as a UC fan and the conversation was smooth sailing. After it was known, people would disregard what I said, and just bashed Xavier instead. What I found was, most of this board was unable to have intelligent conversation with someone who opposed the majority of the boards opinion, if that person wasn't a UC fan.

I stopped posting here for a while, but chose to come back after all that crosstown shootout crap X received for being thugs. I came back to give it right back to all you UC fans who still think Xavier was full of thugs, even though they have had NO trouble with the law recently, and UC players have.

I also don't think I have resorted to name calling, like the majority of those posters on this board have resorted to, at least when talking about me. I certainly don't mind it, but find it funny at how quick the name calling comes up, especially after one of your points have been proven wrong.

None of us care.

If this is true the board will go silent except for stupidity. The recruiting section here is by far the best reason to visit.

Again I have no problem with a X fan being here, it is the thread derailing that is annoying. The ellis thread turned into some stupid pissing match on x vs UC, that isn't fun or entertaining, it's damn annoying, and the point that Greatone and KC are missing.

We are working on some rules and guidelines for members. While I have been hesitent in the past to do so, I think it is time to have clear rules.

I understand what your saying and will make the changes that the board requires. That is why I am asking for the feedback on this forum. I do hope that others on the board can see the others point of view as well.

People will not be 100 percent happy with whatever we do. Too strict or too soft depending on who is looking at it.

We just need to have a defined position that every at least knows.

Sounds like a plan! I can definitely agree with that. I am a mod on another board very similar to this one, very lax and such. No real set rules, but we have been lucky. It is difficult to moderate. I don't envy your position. If you need any help let me know I'd be happy to in any way I can.

Stop the multiple ids some posters on here have. The biggest reason I stopped posting was that I tired of ralph using 3 or 4 ids to argue a point. While others think he is funny, I find it old and visit the other forums now to find intelligent opinions. There are many posters on here who I enjoy and I do like the feel here better. But ralph/mick/ect. is an old act.

Seriously guys if your worst problems are KCourt and Ralph(x2) then the board is running pretty smoothly IMO. I've been there and seen way worse at BCN.

Right here is the problem. People have said over and again they have issues with mick/ralph and they get ignored.

I've never had a problem with KCourt until this year's shootout when he clearly seemed to try (and succeeded) in getting under UC fans skin about the game and the brawl. I like a differing opinion but how many times has the phrase or something similar to "we blew you out by 23 points" come from him? I'm not going to count but I'm betting at least 75 times in the six months since the shootout. It's repetitive posts like that derail threads and we need to curb that type of posting. And others are guilty of this too. I will say if people stop responding to it it might stop it rather than just egg him on.

Sorry to call you out KCourt, I usually will never mention people's names like that. There are a handful of posters on here that annoy me to no end and you were never one of them until your post shootout stuff. I actually enjoy your opinion on anything else. I encourage you to let the shootout go. X beat us by 23, it was an embarassing night for UC fans. You have made your point on the matter. Everyone on here knows how you feel. Both sides were at fault in the brawl. To argue one side was worse than the other is only justifying bad behavior. And that is said to everybody, not just KCourt. I honestly don't want to see KCourt banned, but I do hope we can convince him to stop posting on this past year's shootout.

As far as Xavier talk, I don't mind it. Part of having a rivalry is rooting against a team and sharing joy in their misfortune. Maybe we can relegate X talk (other than shootout) to a seperate set of threads.

My only recommendation for improving the site is when we see repetitive posting the mods take action to stop it.

There is one although it's a bit difficult to find on this version of the software. Click on USER CP. Go to EDIT IGNORE LIST. add said individual. Save. Hope it works.

This is a very good board, the best as more and more come and post. The moderators killed BCN. If you do not think exactly like the BCN moderators you got banned. BCN is now a lemming board, dull and boring, relatively no one posts there.
