Now I feel bad. Mick in the post game show said Johnson has bronchitis. Good for him for playing through it! Tough guy

Ugh man I remember having to do that back when I played. Its playing like you're out of gas and trying to catch your breath the entire game. Good on him for giving it a go, hope he gets back to being healthy for RI and Duke, his D on the perimeter is going to be necessary even if he doesn't score as much as we'd all like.

Just got home from the game.

Very good overall defensive effort.

Didn't shoot well from free throw line or the arc.

Our big men can pass and most importantly catch the ball.

Gary Clark plays the passing lanes as good as anyone I have seen in awhile.

Evans is a underrated defender.

JJ and Quadri took a small step back but not much. Still feel both are better then last year.

If Washington gives us that on a consistent basis we will be a very good team by years end.

Scott showed off his atheletism and Brooks is big and he moves much better then I expected.

Jennifer took a small step back? 50% from the field, 33% from three, 100% from FT line, 5 rebounds, and only 1 turnover in 27 minutes.

i was thinking the same its obvious as could be that the kid is very much improved and should be a decent role player for us off the bench this year when caupain needs to rest

All we can say is we got exactly what we wanted to see. Surprised Scott was the last man off the bench. That's all. I feel like they wanted to get Brooks in early since the scrimmage

We only had 1 shot clock violation tonight against Brown. I'll call that progress. Time will tell....

These team clearly loves playing together, I know we all got high on the team last year and it didn't go so well. We were nervous about depth and our stars taking that next step. Even our players have confidence in our depth, these guys are all players. We looked like a team with some real chemistry, we played like we want to win. Some thing need improved, like Washington said gotta take shots that are within the offense don't just throw something up. But these guys will settle down and start letting the game come to them. Washington in game one appears to be what we expected and hoped for, Evans may end up being even more than we thought, Troy is gonna come in be efficient and lead this team, clark is gonna be a force inside when he wants to be, and the gaps all seem to be pretty full too. We've got a real team this year, cannot wait for the Rhode Island game, and man oh man I hope duke. Could you imagine lol.

He's insane. On a way different level than anything Brown can handle.

He's gonna be something else for us. I think we all see where he was headed, I'm glad to have it this year but also hope he doesn't blow unto much and leave us already lol

Probably just me but I though he looked a bit better last game. You know what your right. When I consider how we played on the perimeter defensively against a team who can shoot I have to agree with you he was good. I guess I was looking for a bit more penetration.Still much improved from last year. Quad seemed to be forcing things a bit.

JJ is going to be a big part of the team this year. Him and TC were on the floor a lot together.

It was very refreshing to see us play defense the whole game. Last year through the early part of he schedule we would get a big lead and think we didn't need to continue to guard. I really think that played a big part in us not being ready for better teams in close games especially when we needed a stop. Loved the way we shutdown a very good shooting team. I will be interested to see if we can keep up this kind of defensive intensity combined with a better offensive approach. It's early but it looks like the team learned a lesson from last year. Need to play both ends of the floor. Albany scored a boat load against Penn St. they have been to the dance last two years. Let s play both ends of the floor again.

Was impressed with washington. I dogged him a little after the exhibition game. Keeping him in the paint and apparently the motivation of a real game was exactly what the doctor ordered. He is a smart player, loved how he drew the double team then dumped the nice pass to a slashing Clark a couple times. That will be hard to defend. Love his energy and love how he keeps the ball high. Simple fundamental but too many bigs don't do it.

Worth noting that Kevin Johnson was very sick, respiratory issue. Cronin mentioned he had no business playing just didn't want to miss the first game. So lessens the worry on that performance.

Ha between the first exhibition and that early foul, I was starting to worry. I won't worry anymore. He was outstanding.

For me, the reason this game was different from early last year is bc we didn't play a way that is unsustainable (for whatever reason). We took what they gave us in transition, but for the most part we scored a lot bc of efficiency. Obviously it helps playing a bad team, but that wasn't our problem. We did what we had to do.

lol, this place has became so predictable. After beating a team that won 3 games in the ivy league last year, players are going to the league, offense is much better, defense is a beast, Cronin is the man, players have improved over last year, ect, ect.

Some of you guys are just priceless..
