Do you know how many teams are banned besides SMU and Louisville? And do some conferences not let every team in the conference tournament?

Yes, some of the smaller conferences only let the top 8 in the league tournament. Here are the non-NCAA Tournament eligible teams. Some are still allowed to play in the conference tournament where if they make it to the finals and win, I believe the losing team gets the auto-bid.

DI transitional teams: Abilene Christian, Grand Canyon, Incarnate Word, Massachusetts-Lowell, and Northern Kentucky (Norse can still play in conference tournament)

APR: Alcorn State, Central Arkansas, Florida A&M, and Stetson (can play in A-Sun tournament)

Post Season Bans: Louisville, Missouri, Pacific and Southern Miss

Both the 2 and 3 seeds go down in the A-Sun tournament. Stetson, who is ineligible for the NCAA's, advances as the 7 seed.

EDIT: Just read the rules, if Stetson wins the A-Sun Tournament, the regular season champion North Florida gets the auto bid.

Good to know. Thank you.

Wow 2 seed and 3 time defending America East Champion Albany is down 17 at home to Hartford at the half.

I LOVE IT! I live 15 mins away from university of New Hampshire and they have never made the ncaa tourney before so I'm crossing my fingers!

I'm going to go to Arch Madness one of these years.

I went a few years ago when my friend was at Wash U. It was amazing to see how well attended the semi-final games on Saturday were. The fanbases travel decently and it is a pretty good draw for the general St. Louis public. The AAC should take notes. Our tournament should be in Philadelphia...I don't understand why it isn't.

1 seed Belmont goes down to 8 seed Austin Peay in OT. They are already the 3rd 1 seed to lose in the semifinal or earlier. Crazy.

Also Yale is now one win away from their first NCAA bid since 1962 with the Princeton loss tonight.

8 seeded Austin Peay wins 4 games in 4 days and claims the OVC autbid to the NCAA Tournament with a win over 2 seed UT-Martin.

Iona vs Monmouth tonight for the MAAC championship everyone on the bubble wants to see Monmouth win, if they don't they will most likely get in as an at large bid and Iona would steal another bid into the tourney.

Iona wins. That is a really good rivalry in the MAAC. Both teams won on each others home court this season, now the Gaels take the rubber match.

Not good.... There is no way Monmouth is left out with their resume. We really have to take care of business this weekend.

Whats criminal about leaving them out? 4-4 against top 100 and 3 losses to teams 200+...RPI will float around 50.

I don't understand how that resume is better than Temple/UC/Tulsa/UConn.

Their top win is #35 Notre Dame btw...

People love Monmouth's bench though and there will be so much love for them if they make the tourney and win their first game.

Not saying they deserve to be in but people know Monmouth because of their bench and the selection committee knows people will watch them.
